NFL Draft 2017: Leonard Fournette, Solomon Thomas among players attending event

Every year, a parade of selected players sit in the green room waiting for their name to be drafted. Here are this year’s players attending the draft.

The green room is an interesting place. On the positive side, it’s always fun to see the players make their longstanding NFL dreams come true. The players are usually sitting with their families or friends and maybe even their college coaches, and it’s a joy to see their emotion as they take to the stage, donning the new cap of the team that selected them, and take in the spectacle of being named as a first round pick in the NFL Draft. It’s truly a dream come true.

There is a downside, however. Sometimes it’s painful to watch the one or two players who are left sitting in the room waiting for their chance to come. Sometimes a player will not even be selected on the first night, as with Geno Smith, quarterback from West Virginia, who had to wait until the New York Jets selected him in the second round before coming to meet NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on stage. The cameras were constantly on him as pick after pick looked him over for the sake of someone else.

While every player in the green room has likely heard very positive things about where they will go, the reality is that no one is guaranteed anything at this point. Thus here are the players who are braving the cameras and soaking in the experience to live out their dreams and hear their names called by Goodell in Philly on Thursday night.
