Some buzz is building around Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs, who is set to visit the Chiefs, Titans and Saints among other teams leading up to the NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to host any quarterback who could merit an early round selection with visits at Arrowhead Stadium. The latest is former Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs, who is taking visits with the Chargers, Titans and Saints among others this month in the run up to the 2017 NFL Draft.

Dobbs comes more starting experience than some of his peers in this draft class, with 37 games as an SEC quarterback. Last year, Dobbs threw 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 63% of his passes, an increase from the 59.6% the previous year but down from his sophomore season. Scouts knock his inconsistency at Tennessee, having hoped to see a consistent climb year after year in the pocket.

Dobbs is, however, also a solid rushing threat who had 150 carries and 831 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns last season. He had 32 rushing touchdowns in his collegiate career with the Volunteers.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. recently said Dobbs was a second or third round talent, although boards are wildly different depending on the scout.

“If you feel like a better supporting cast would have helped him maybe play a little bit better at Tennessee,” Kiper Jr. said, “then you could think about Josh Dobbs in the second or third round.”
