Arrowhead Addict, FanSided’s flagship site and home for news/analysis for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently turned 10-years-old.

The official recognized birthday of the FanSided Network is April 1, 2007. If we want to get technical, however, the very first post in the network’s history was on March 27th, 2007 and of course, it was right here on Arrowhead Addict. It was a video of Larry Johnson impersonating Herm Edwards. Remember that?

Our long-time readers know the story. For those that don’t, FanSided was launched by two brothers, Adam and Zach Best, when they started Arrowhead Addict. As time passed, they decided to launch more sites for other pro sports franchises. Today, the FanSided Network consists of over 300 sports, entertainment and lifestyle blogs. The company was acquired by media giant Time Inc. in May of 2015 and now has brick and mortar offices in Chicago and Phoenix.

But it all started right here, with the Chiefs Kingdom.

I love this website. I was lucky enough to get to run the place for three years and

walking away

to attend to my other FanSided duties was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The site has always been about providing honest fan takes on the Chiefs. We’ve often presented both sides of the argument. Sometimes our takes have been popular and sometimes they haven’t. We’ve never been afraid to call out the Chefs when they deserved it (Pioli era, Adam Best renaming Herm Edwards “Harm” and burning his Larry Johnson jersey) but we’ve also praised them and cheered them on like hell (Zombie Chiefs).

But the best part of AA is all of you, the Addicts. You’ve stood by this site these past ten years. It has been awesome watching AA grow and form a community. We produce this content for you and have always stood by the belief that our posts here are only one side of the conversation. We loved hearing from you in that comments section, whether you agree with us or are calling us morons because in the end, we’re all members of the same Chiefs Kingdom.

Recently, we brought aboard Matt Conner to be the new expert here, and I hope you have enjoyed his first month of running things as I have. This past March, AA has attracted more readers than ever before. I have no doubt that Matt will continue build AA’s legacy.

On behalf of Adam and Zach Best, thank you Addicts for your support and here’s to the next ten years.

And here’s to the Chiefs.
