Word is that the Philadelphia Eagles are unable to find a landing spot for Chase Daniel to give the quarterback a chance to start somewhere.

Chase Daniel just wants a fair chance at a starting role. The former Kansas City Chiefs back-up was quickly relegated to Philadelphia Eagles back-up, perennially holding the clipboard for both teams behind Alex Smith and Carson Wentz, respectively. With another offseason of shifting players, an opportunity to start is quickly fading as the Eagles are having a hard time finding a new place for the veteran quarterback, per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

It will be interesting to see if Daniel can eventually find a role after the NFL Draft, when NFL teams will have a much better idea of what final rosters might resemble. Just a few days ago, rumors around the Chicago Bears’ potential interest were swirling but that was before the Mike Glennon signing. For a team who is unable to land the prospect they desire in the draft, Daniel could be an asset worth trading for in May and June to solidify the depth chart and add some competition. Of course, he’s not alone in seeking such a position given that other younger veterans like Nick Foles are also searching for work.

Daniel has started only two games in his seven year NFL career, never getting a single start behind Drew Brees in New Orleans and only two behind Smith in K.C.
