Locked on Chiefs – Seth Keysor talks Charles, Smith & Foles

The news of Jamaal Charles to IR sent shockwaves through Kansas City and the NFL.
Charles setback came as a surprise on Tuesday. After a long recovery from offseason ACL reconstruction, Charles made his 2016 debut versus Pittsburgh in week 4. the following week Charles rushed the ball 9 times for 33 yards and appeared to be slowly making his way back to his featured role. Then he played only 2 snaps versus New Orleans and field to get not he field for the Colts in week 8.
It has been confirmed that Charles will need another procedure. No specifics have been given but speculation is that it could mean the end of his 2016 season. The long term outlook for Charles continued career remains unclear until after a second procedure. It also will lead to a critical contract decision, as Chalres is set o earn $7M in 2017.

The Chiefs made a number of other moves on Tuesday. Most notably, rookie Parker Ehinger was also placed on IR, reportedly with a torn ACL. The team also signed running back Bishop Sankey, who was a college teammate of Marcus Peters’ at the University of Washington. Linebackers Sio Moore and Sam Barrington were released. In a corresponding move, the team elevated linebacker Terrence Smith the 53-man roster.
