The Kansas City Chiefs are piling up the injuries on offense, with Parker Ehinger, Spencer Ware and Alex Smith going down.

Kansas City is 5-2 and starting to roll with three consecutive victories out of the bye, but the Chiefs are certainly starting to take on water. After the 30-14 win over the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Andy Reid announced a truck load of injuries including updates on Alex Smith, Parker Ehinger and Spencer Ware.

Ware and Smith are both in the concussion protocol after failing to pass the tests. At this point, you have to be especially concerned about Smith, who was in the protocol twice. Ware was injured late in the second quarter and obviously, did not return. Ehinger was hurt in the third quarter and Reid is calling it a sprained knee. If that’s all that happened, it would be a huge win for the Chiefs. It looked really bad.

Kansas City was left with only Charcandrick West at the end of the game in terms of healthy running backs. The Chiefs desperately need some good news in the backfield before this week, or we are likely looking at Darrin Reaves coming up from the practice squad.

Keep it right here for all the updates.
