Kansas City headed into their bye week two and two and coming off a humiliating loss to the Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

The Chiefs couldn’t get anything going offensively and defensively they couldn’t stop anyone. What a difference two weeks makes.

Kansas City came back from the bye week and quickly took care of the Oakland Raiders in Oakland. They started a little quicker against the Saints and held on through the end. KC is now 4-2. The next four games should be a much easier task.

This Sunday the Chiefs head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts and Andrew Luck. Before the season began I figured this game for a loss. I didn’t think KC would have a team that could stay with the Colts offense in Indy. Now I think Kansas City has a great chance to win this game.

The KC offense probably can’t keep up with the Colts offense if it becomes a shootout. The defense is playing better this year. They have the ability to slow down the Colts offense and make them a one-dimensional team. Kansas City’s offense has shown that the running game can be good enough to control the clock. The passing attack is coming along enough to keep the Colts defense honest so the Chiefs should win this game. Chiefs move to 5-2.

Next up on the schedule is a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jacksonville game is the most winnable game left on the schedule. At 2-4 the Jaguars are a team that’s struggling and they shouldn’t get things going against KC. Chiefs move to 6-2.

When the season began I fully expected that the Broncos would lose the first game of the season. I thought that the Carolina Panthers would be the same team for the most part that went to the Super Bowl. They should have been better with the return of Kelvin Benjamin on offense. To this point the Panthers can’t do anything to stop opposing offenses.

KC heads to the east coast to take on the Panthers. Kansas City is a better team right now then the Panthers and should be able to keep the Panthers offense off kilter enough to win the game. Chiefs move to 7-2.

The last game of four game stretch is another home stand against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. By the time the Buccaneers come to town in the middle of November KC should be riding a 9 game winning streak at Arrowhead. Kansas City’s defense could be healthier than it’s been all season. The Chiefs offensive line will get its second big test in a two-week stretch.

When the Chiefs play against Tampa Justin Houston should be back. He may even be playing in his second or third game and the team should be getting stronger for the stretch run. Chiefs move to 8-2.

KC is very capable of being 8-2 after the next four games, but I think they should at the very least be 7-3. At 7-3 or 8-2 the Chiefs are in a prime position for the stretch run. Kansas City would face the Broncos twice, and play the Raiders at home in the last 6 games of the season.

The Raiders and Broncos could be right on their heels or having the same record at that point. Both teams will have their bye week over the next four weeks. The Chiefs are in a very envious spot with this stretch of games.

Currently they sit at 4-2 without their two best players being a big part of their season so far. I’ve said since before the season started if the Chiefs can be at .500 or better when Houston comes back they should make a deep playoff run.
