The AFC West appears to be Wide Open

After last night, this division is officially up for grabs. The Chiefs are in a unique position to capitalize on that fact. With the Denver loss to San Diego, the Broncos now have just as many losses as the Kansas City Chiefs. If the chiefs can focus on Oakland and get a win against the Raiders, they too will have 2 losses. Putting both Denver and Oakland on a slide, Kansas City has the opportunity to get off on a run that could give them a division lead.

Answering the Chiefs Pass Rush Question

“He’s got some flashes, he’s aggressive, he has real great energy, he’s going to be fine. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time” – Bob Sutton on Dadi Nicolas

There have been a number of wrinkles popping up this week surrounding the Chiefs pass rush. Justin Houston’s return to activity will provide an emotional boost going into Oakland, but two young players may have the chance to make an impact sooner rather than later. Defensive coordinator Bob Sutton spoke to the media Thursday and had encouraging things to say regarding Dadi Nicolas.

The newcomer Sio Moore got some reps with the first team defense this week. Moore, who played primarily at inside linebacker in Indianapolis and Oakland, repped at outside linebacker. Sutton feels he has all-around talent and can provide some pass rush ability. He may get a look this weekend against the Raiders.
