Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith is making sure his teammates are watching the correct programming.

Alex Smith is a quiet guy in front of the cameras when the media invades the locker room. On the field, Smith doesn’t show a ton of emotion (unless he completes the biggest comeback in franchise history, then he’s a wild animal). Overall, most would say Smith is reserved with a dash of brazen on most days.

However, Kevin Clark of The Ringer has uncovered a new truth about the quarterback. He’s not shy when telling teammates what shows to watch and what books to read. Yes, Smith is apparently very into high-brow shows and intellectual books, and wants badly to discuss them with his friends inside the locker room. This is both peculiar and hilarious at the same time.

Can you imagine sitting in the quarterbacks room on a Monday, watching film, and Smith leans over and is all “Hey man, did you happen to catch The Blacklist last night? It was dope. By the way, they are playing Cover 2.” It would be fantastic.

Hopefully, Smith puts away the Netflix lineup this week and prepares hard for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kansas City and Pittsburgh are both 2-1, and this primetime matchup is rife with playoff implications.
