The Kansas City Chiefs are filling out their 10-man practice squad. We will have all the news and updates right here!

After naming the 53-man roster (54 if you count Eric Berry, who currently eats up a roster exemption), the Chiefs are still working on figuring out who will actually be on the payroll come Sept. 11.

Kansas City general manager John Dorsey has to put the practice squad together on Sunday, having everything squared away by this afternoon. Here are a couple things you have to know … First, any practice squad player had to have cleared waivers on Saturday night and Sunday morning. If a team claimed a player, the Chiefs can’t try to pluck the guy away by offering a bigger contract or anything like that.

Also, Kansas City can call any of these players up to the active roster at any time. That said, the Chiefs would have to demote a player on the active roster to make room. It always has to be at 53 players.

Alright, let’s follow the news in real time!

Smith looked like a player in the preseason, and clearly Dorsey wants to develop this young talent.

Hammond is capable on special teams and earned a spot on the practice squad. He’ll likely make an appearance for Kansas City at some point this season.

Pughsley was a candidate to make the 53-man roster, so this is a nice get.

King can play. I’m surprised he wasn’t picked up by another team on the waiver wire.

Randolph will continue to ripen on the vine. The Chiefs are deep at safety, but keeping Randolph in the fold is a nice job.

The big name here is Reaves. Some thought he would end up on the 53-man roster, so kudos to Kansas City for keeping him on the team. He could be coming up at some point this season, a la Charcandrick West in 2014.

All right, that’s the 2016 Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. Thoughts, Addicts?
