The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to get in the win column against the Chicago Bears.

On Saturday, the Chiefs will take on the Chicago Bears at rainy Soldier Field. For Kansas City, this is the last time we will get to see the starters in the preseason. While the Chiefs will play on Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers, don’t expect to see anybody in the starting lineup on the field.

To this point in the season, Kansas City has been a tale of two teams. The defense has been a nightmare of sorts, albeit with all kinds of starters sitting on the sidelines. We are yet to see Justin Houston, Phillip Gaines, Eric Berry and Tamba Hali. Last week, Josh Mauga was also out along with Dezman Moses.

On the flip side, the offense has been sublime. Alex Smith has been throwing darts all over the field, while Jeremy Maclin and Chris Conley are making a nice duo on the outside. The backfield has also given us what we expected. Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware have been effective and finding the end zone behind a revamped and improved offensive line.

Head coach Andy Reid would surely enjoy seeing some better play out of the defense, which is the main thing to watch on Saturday (only superseded by avoiding injuries). Let’s hope the wet field in Chicago doesn’t cause any problems.

Reid has stated the starters will at least play the entire first half and might go into the third quarter. If field conditions are bad, perhaps Reid changes his mind. We will find out soon.
