Roughly four weeks from now, the Kansas City Chiefs will depart for their annual training camp site at Missouri Western University in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

It’s there, in the final phase of the offseason program, where the team’s installations on both sides of the football will truly take shape. Kansas City finally ended its 20+ year playoff drought to close out their 2015 campaign. If the rumblings out of Arrowhead are to be believed, team brass realizes that becoming a more dynamic and prolific offense will be key in the season forthcoming.

In order for them to take another step forward and make a deeper run into the postseason, they’ll need more offensive production.

It’s recently been reported that the Chiefs are working diligently to improve their two-minute offense. The playoff loss to the New England Patriots demostrated that trailing late in crucial games is a recipe for disaster in Kansas City. With changes to the team’s offensive staff, it’s apparent that head coach Andy Reid and company are focused on fixing what ails this offense — even beyond specific game situations.

The road to recovery must always be paved with self-awareness. What can this team improve upon to become a better offensive group? I’m glad you asked, and since you’re asking, let’s get into it.
