All right, Addicts, the final cuts are in and it is time for football!  To be honest, this may have been the most exhausting week of NFL news I’ve done yet.  But I’m through it with both my job and marriage still in tact, so that’s a win!  Now it’s on the Kansas City Chiefs to follow that up this Sunday.

Tony Moeaki has had a promising career cut short by an extensive injury history. Mandatory Credit: Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have placed guard Jon Asamoah on injured reserve, meaning he will miss the entire 2015 season.  Though a talented player, to describe Asamoah’s tenure with the Falcons as anything other than a disappointment would be incorrect.  This is definitely a huge blow to their offensive line.  To replace him, the Falcons have signed former Broncos guard, Ben Garland.  Meanwhile, the team has released tight end Tony Moeaki.  Moeaki has a very long record of injuries, and it has caught up to him again.

  • Chiefs’ take: Hats off to Scott Pioli.  Very few NFL executives can be as consistently wrong about players as he has been and still keep their job.  Bravo sir.

Baltimore Ravens:  The Ravens have traded center Nick Easton to the 49ers for a fourth round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.

Buffalo Bills: The Bills have made Marcel Dareus the highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL.  It is surprising only in that Dareus is currently serving a suspension.  However, the Bills seemed to have no problem doling out the cash…which perfectly fits how Rex Ryan did things in New York.

Chiefs’ take

: John Dorsey dislikes this.  The Chiefs have a contract coming up with Dontari Poe.  And while they have him signed on a 5th year option, that only means more contracts will be getting done.  The Chiefs needed to move fast to get the best possible deal on Poe, and the new deal for Dareus is definitely going to come into play there.

More from Kansas City Chiefs News

Carolina Panthers:  The Panthers have not only signed linebacker Luke Kuechly to an extension, they made a statement with it by having him far surpass the contract received by Bobby Wagner.  Kuechly has been the heart of the Panthers defense ever since they drafted him.

Chicago Bears: The Bears have released veteran tight ends Dante Rosario and Bear Pascoe.  While most of the roster in Chicago is pretty terrible, the Bears were very deep at tight end.

  • Chiefs’ take: I still believe the Chiefs are in need of a veteran blocking tight end, and both Rosario and Pascoe fit the bill.  I would not be upset if either ended up on our roster.

Cincinnati Bengals:  The Bengals cut defensive lineman Devon Still.  Still and his daughter, Leah, were the absolute best story in football last year.  The Bengals also placed linebacker Vontaze Burfict on the PUP list.  Reports are also coming in that the Bengals are ramping up contract talks with wide receiver A.J. Green.
