Chiefs 53-man roster: The final prediction

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs have to be down to 53 players by Saturday afternoon, less than 48 hours after they finish up their preseason slate against the St. Louis Rams. While Kansas City is trying to go for an undefeated record in the exhibition campaign, the focus this week will be on the final roster moves.

With the roster currently sitting at 75 players, I’m going to take one final stab at the final 53-man roster.

Summary

I think this is one of the deepest rosters in the league. There is not one position group without talent, which in the salary cap era, really is saying something.

Personally, I would keep Nick Williams over Hammond, but the Chiefs love the guy for some reason. I believe Fangupo makes the roster at the expense of rookie Rakeem Nunez-Roches, who goes to the practice squad. At linebacker, James-Michael Johnson and Josh Martin get the pink slip. I like Martin’s upside more than Zombo, but the coaching staff really trusts the veteran. I can’t see Zombo being cut because of his value on special teams, and his versatility.

What do you think, Addicts? Where did I go wrong?
