Good morning, Addicts! I’m working this Saturday, and guess what? I don’t care. The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0, albeit in the preseason, after hammering the Tennessee Titans on Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium 34-10. The Chiefs were absolutely dominant on offense, scoring 17 points before pulling Alex Smith midway through the second quarter. It was a beautiful thing.

Here is the news you need to know.

Alex Smith has stellar showing against TitansAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs had two pass plays of more than 25 yards, including a 29-yard throw by Smith to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin that opened the night’s scoring. Smith later hit tight end Travis Kelce for 34 yards to set up a second touchdown, an 8-yard Smith to Kelce pass."

"The Chiefs led 17-0 when Smith was done for the night. The Titans narrowed the gap to 17-10 by halftime but only after Murray threw an interception."

"Why was this different? Smith got the ball out quickly so he didn’t even give the line a chance to falter. He was accurate and made decisions quickly. The Chiefs were also all over the place with their formations as they usually are, going from four-wide to start the game to two tight end to three tight ends. It was a lot of fun to watch."

"The good stuff, as it typically does in football, started up front. The Chiefs’ offensive line has been a source of concern throughout training camp, and things weren’t looking up after their first two preseason games, when the starting group blew some assignments on stunts, which subjected quarterback Alex Smith to unwanted punishment."

Mailbag Part II: Should Chiefs trade a corner? Adam Teicher of ESPN

"Because they probably won’t use more than five at any time, I would normally say a trade of one of them would be a good idea. It still might be, depending on what the Chiefs could get in return for, say, Cooper. But the situation is complicated by Smith’s three-game season-opening suspension. The Chiefs might need the other five for those three games. The other is that Smith is in the final season of his contract."
