Coffee with the Chiefs – Playoff odds seem fair?

Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are enjoying an off day on Thursday, with their third preseason game coming up on Friday night against the Tennessee Titans. Kansas City is hoping to keep its undefeated record in tact against a team that upset it in Week 1 of last year, ultimately on the way to a 2-14 record.

While this upcoming game pales in comparison to that contest, it would still be nice to see the Chiefs come out, play well and earn another victory. With all that said, here is the news you need to know:

Kansas City’s playoff odds are about rightJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"If we were ranking the best odds and the worst odds for making the 2015 NFL playoffs, the Kansas City Chiefs come in at No. 11. Bovada released the playoff odds for all but one team in the NFL. That one team is the New England Patriots, whose odds are off the board with the Tom Brady situation in the air. (Hint: They’re still going to win the AFC East and make the playoffs either way)"

Titans have a ton of ex-Chiefs coming to ArrowheadAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs were wise to let him go as a free agent last year. They replaced McCluster last year by drafting De’Anthony Thomas and while the Chiefs may encounter the same problem with the diminutive Thomas that they had with McCluster, Thomas is much faster and therefore would seem to have more potential as a big-play threat."

Third preseason game has been ugly for Kansas City under Andy ReidAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs won in overtime in their third preseason game in 2013 but they had to rally to do it. After falling behind the Pittsburgh Steelers 10-0 in the first quarter, the Chiefs tied the game 10-10 at half and eventually won in the extra period on Chase Daniel’s touchdown pass to Rico Richardson."
