This offseason stretch is a killer. We get a little taste of football and then a month long stretch of nothing but bad-mouthing on the Kansas City Chiefs or no Chiefs at all.

I hate it. But, I feel good about this season.

In 2013, I wasn’t feeling good about Kansas City, but got a nice surprise with a heart-wrenching finish. In 2014, the team got better but also played tougher opponents.

If you were to pay attention to news coming out of the NFL, you would see that people identify and are interested in a certain player rather than a team as a whole. These are not fans, these are my definition of bandwagoners. Those who think you can’t win without a great quarterback, should realize that the Seattle Seahawks don’t win because of Russell Wilson. They win because they are an outstanding TEAM.

All the bandwagoners out there who don’t have a feel for the game, but just look at fantasy points and excitement, probably won’t like what I’m about to say. I’m going to make a prediction about Alex Smith, then about the first quarter of the 2015 season.

If you were a fan in 2013, then deep down, you knew this team wasn’t quite ready for the success they were achieving. When the Wild Card game came around, we all got a glimpse of what this team could really do. It was beautiful. Smith showed his true potential, and would’ve made every bandwagoner happy. But the team obviously wasn’t ready to do it for four quarters.
