The last time we published a batch of Chiefs wallpapers, the blame game was in full effect.

Optimists felt disillusioned and pessimists felt validated, while branches of both, to some extent, felt John Dorsey was a quack.

Adding to the laundry list of problems, free agency was around the corner, and Kansas City’s bidder was counting quarter rolls.

Apparently, Dorsey went to the Samuel L. Jackson school of negotiating, though.

Tamba Hali and Mike DeVito took pay cuts. Jeremy Maclin inked a cap-friendly contract, as did Ron Parker.

Guard and former Pro Bowler Ben Grubbs, who was acquired via trade, also booked a flight to KCI.

And somehow, Dorsey managed to do all of this (and more) after fitting Justin Houston’s $13 million-plus franchise tender under the ceiling.

Three weeks out from the 2015 draft, the Chiefs, for the first time in years, suddenly look less like a wild-card contender and more like a legitimate threat to the Denver Broncos’ AFC West reign.
