Unlike the last few weeks, this is not a ‘must-win’ game for the Chiefs when it comes to the playoff hopes. However, the Chiefs could really take a significant step forward towards a repeat berth in the playoffs with a win at home against the Seahawks.

Seattle comes in a very strong, yet less imposing team than they were a year before. Their secondary has shown weaknesses, especially against tight ends, and their pass rush hasn’t been nearly as dominate like we saw in the Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos. While the Seahawks are still a very tough team, this game has turned into something that could be far more winnable for the Chiefs than maybe some of us thought when the schedule was released.

Kansas City is going to need a big day from their defensive line and Travis Kelce if they want to pull this one out. Seattle has given up the second most touchdown passes in the NFL to tight ends entering Sunday, and has also struggled heavily against short and intermediate passing games. San Diego took advantage of this earlier in the season when they beat the Seahawks. Kelce is the Chiefs best weapon in these situations so creating good matchups for him and getting him the ball will be key.

Marshawn Lynch runs with as much anger as he showed in this picture. His power style opens up Seattle’s offense and at times carries them altogether. Dontari Poe, Allen Bailey and the rest of the defensive line are going to have to play one of their best games of the year to help slow Lynch down enough to keep Russell Wilson off the field.

Get Kelce going and slow down Lynch. Do that and Kansas City should be able to walk away from Arrowhead 7-3 and in firm command of a wild card spot.

Prediction: Chiefs 23, Seahawks 20
