The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Alex Smith. It happened. There’s nothing we can do about it.
So now that you know Smith will be wearing red for the next three years at least, what do you think of his new contract? Four-year, $68 million is far less than what some thought he would receive from the Chiefs and way less than what he would have received if he had it free agency.
But we know this isn’t all about money. Quarterbacks, no matter who you are, are going to get paid big bucks no matter what because of the market value of their position. This is as much about organizational philosophy and if Smith is the right man to be leading the Chiefs offense. John Dorsey and Andy Reid clearly seem to think he’s the guy for the job, but do you?
We ask you now, Addicts, if you are okay with the Chiefs handing the keys to the franchise to Smith for four more years. Vote in the poll and let us know your thoughts on the extension in the comments below. Please refrain from excessive references to Tyler Palko, Brodie Croyle, and Matt Cassel. My heart cannot take it.
