NFL media guru/insider/legend Peter King was in Kansas City last night to talk to Chiefs personnel and watch the preseason opener against the Bengals. During his visit, he jumped on the Chiefs’ television broadcast to drop a few nuggets to Chiefs fans who happened to hang with the broadcast into the fourth quarter.

Here are three notes from King’s TV appearance to keep in mind moving forward.

The first nugget was King’s somewhat emphatic statement that Albert Wilson is going to make the Chiefs roster out of camp.

After last night’s performances from the wide receivers it is hard to argue agains the idea Wilson won’t make this team. In limited action he caught two passes for 14 yards and also returned a kickoff for 65 yards that helped set up the Chiefs’ first score of the game. He displayed the speed and athleticism that made him intriguing as an undrafted free agent plus showed some savvy ability to adjust to the ball when to pass wasn’t where it was supposed to be. Wilson’s showing last night in addition to his two weeks of practice puts a lot of pressure on guys like Junior Hemingway, Mark Harrison, Weston Dressler, and Frankie Hammond to show something in practice and in next week’s preseason game before the first roster cuts. Kansas City is likely going to carry Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery, A.J. Jenkins, Kyle Williams, and, apparently, Wilson on the roster when the final 53-man team is announced. This leaves one, maybe two spots, available for the remaining receivers. This next week is going to be a fascinating one to watch.
