The Morning Fix: Weston Dressler, Dontari Poe, World Cup

Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Morning Fix.

Good morning, Addicts.

It would make sense “The Black Mamba” De’Anthony Thomas would be afraid of cats.

Weston Dressler injured his hamstring yesterday in practice, says Adam Teicher. He has some other OTA notes from yesterday, too.

Jonathan Baldwin’s best chance to make the 49ers may be to move to tight end.

Sean Keeler argues Dontari Poe’s exclusion from the NFL’s Top 100 list is a bad one.

"The boys at Pro Football Focus (PFF) are a little less bullish, but five of those elite 10 linemen wound up withlower 2013 cumulative ratings than Poe’s +23.5: Wilkerson (+17.9), Ngata (+14.5), Atkins (+20.5), Allen (-3.0) and Smith (+13.2). Last month, the site even went out of its way to place the Memphis native at No. 30 among its “The PFF 101: Best of 2013” chart."

Josh Michaels of KC Kingdom was also not pleased by Poe’s exclusion.

"Poe is coming off a tremendous season, one in which he put up career numbers in sacks (4.5) and tackles (43) and earned his first trip to the pro-bowl."

Two non-football stories:

– It is looking like the San Antonio Spurs are going to win the NBA title.

– The World Cup started yesterday with a 3-1 Brazil victory.
