Sean Smith Arrested For Allegedly Driving Under The Influence

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. The Chiefs have released a statement.

Smith signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract before the 2013 season to be come a Chief. He was part of the beginning wave to add more size to the Chiefs cornerbacks group. In his first season with the Chiefs he intercepted two passes and defended 9 more, finishing with +0.9 overall grade from PFF. Only Eric Berry had a higher overall PFF rating among Chiefs defensive backs with at least 300 snaps played.

Ron Parker took first-team snaps at cornerback for the Chiefs during OTAs in Smith’s place.

Now seems like a good time to remind you about the Chiefs players who have not done stupid things recently.

I swear i wanna punch a freakin wall when players do crap like dis its not like you dont know the rules

What’s worse is they have plenty of money to hire a driver!!

        • Patrick Allen

They actually all have a line they can call, provided by the NFL, that wherever they are, they will get them a car and I believe, pick up the tab.

          • KCMikeG

Which makes this kind of mistake all the more foolish. How many games will he be suspended? Would we cut him over something like this?

While driving under the influence while you can afford to buy a limousine service is…wait, this guy can literally buy a limousine service but instead he decided to risk others and his own life by being ignorant. I got nothing here folks but to say everyone messes up sooner or later. Still not okay to DUI though.

  • David Highley

How in the hell can you have all that money and not have insurance either.

    • Wilbhit

He may have insurance. stated he failed to show proof of insurance. Either way he should carry the insurance card with him, and that is the small part of a much larger problem.

  • Michael Shaw

I am sorry, but if I had that kind of a salary I would be getting a car service! I don’t understand how they can be so stupid. They lose more money by NOT getting the taxi or car service!!

There seem to be a huge number of pro athletes who just do not get it. To many years of being favored, no money and restriction of constant training to get to the pros….. earn the cash and turn off the brain.

All I can say is very disappointing!

Settle down folks. Robert Irsay is not an athlete and he has a ton of money. However, he, too, is human and humans, unfortunately, often err, no matter the age.

  • Roger Mihalko

Idiot of the 1st order. Emabarassment to himself, the team and the fans…..grrrrrrr. There is no way anyone, let alone a prof athlete, should get a DUI. Taxi’s.Limo;s, Friends…. hell strangers even… hitchhike! Personally I didn’t like the signing from day one ( he sucked in Miami) and didn’t care for his play ( I think the rating from PFF is misleading) he plays to far off receivers, gambles way to much, has horrible angles on coverage, and gets burned way to much. His height is the only factor I considered because of the giant receivers in our division that we needed help covering. With as many DB’s as we have in camp this year…. Put him on the wire see if we can get some draft picks for next year, Chiefs have no time for stuff like this.

  • Stacy D. Smith

    Silly mistake.

  • Patrick Allen

He could of killed someone. Inexcusable for anyone but especially for someone that has so much money they could have a drive take them everywhere and not even notice the difference in their bank account.
