Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Morning Fix.

Good morning, Addicts.

Herbie Teope says Joe McKnight refocused after a year away from football.

"McKnight’s surprise release came on the heels of a tumultuous offseason, which included an arrest in New Jersey for outstanding traffic violations and reportedly failing a conditioning test. But despite McKnight’s past issues in New York, Reid appeared confident the correct decision was made in signing McKnight to a reserve/future deal on Jan. 10."

Junior Hemingway is earning a solid look at wide receiver says Adam Teicher.

"But he’s an intelligent player who runs reliable routes and consistently catches the ball when it comes his way. He’s also been effective in his limited opportunities as a slot receiver. Both of his touchdown catches last season came from the slot, including one against Denver after he ran through an attempted jam at the line from a defensive back that might have knocked a smaller player off his route."

Christopher Hansen says The Chiefs shouldn’t pay Alex Smith like an elite quarterback.

"For that price, the Chiefs will not care if Smith goes somewhere else. And if they simply give him the franchise tag after this season, they will have time to find a replacement franchise passer."

Joel Thorman lists the top position battles.

"Aaron Murray is going to win this one. Right? I can’t see the Chiefs cutting him or placing him on the practice squad because he’d be gone in a minute. I guess the questions here are what happens to the No. 2 and could the Chiefs carry four quarterbacks … that’s the only way I can see Bray fitting on right now."

DeAngelo Williams writes about his mother and four aunts who have died from breast cancer.

"My mom didn’t tell me she had breast cancer before she got a double mastectomy. That was kept a secret, from me at least, because she didn’t want me worrying about her and getting distracted because, well, I’m a mama’s boy."
