Chiefs Draft Challenge: Who Won The AFC West?

The Second Round of the AFC West Draft
Raiders: QB Derek Carr
Chiefs: QB Alex Smith
Chargers: OLB Jeremiah Attaochu
Broncos: WR Cody Latimer
The Chargers won this round. Jeremiah Attaochu could end up being a real steal. He had 16 TFLs and 12.5 sacks last season for Georgia Tech. I think he’s a class below Dee Ford but is an excellent value if he maxes his potential.
The Chiefs come in second place again. Alex Smith played well in 2014 and looks to continue to be an a very good QB for the Chiefs for years to come if they can get him inked soon.
QB Derek Carr is an excellent pick for the Raiders here in the second round. There are those who thought he could be had later but the Raiders need a good QB and I had Carr ranked at the top of my QB board in this draft.
The Cody Latimer pick is a pick for the future in my estimation. We’ll see some of Latimer this year but his true impact will be felt long after his hall of fame QB is in retirement. Plus, this pick was somewhat surprising since their were other needs the Broncos could have addressed and WR wasn’t one of them.
