Saturday DeSean Jackson Rumor Thread

We’re now on Day 2 of DeSean Jackson watch, which has turned into “mystery team day.” At this stage the Chiefs and the Raiders are the most frequent names mentioned with some new teams entering the mix and a potentially a team leaving the race.

Here’s where we are so far.

Washington and Buffalo are now in the mix for Jackson, though how aggressive their interest is unknown. Note Rapoport refers to the them as wildcards and not as aggressive pursuers.

If this is the case then the top tier of contenders just dropped to Oakland and Kansas City. There is always a chance another team decides to be aggressive and jump into the fray, which would emphasize the need for the Chiefs to act quickly.

Keep in mind the Chiefs had already declared they would not trade for Jackson before the Friday release, and Oakland was one of the few teams with cap space to take on Jackson’s contract in a trade. Jackson’s options increase now that he’s a free agent, and teams like the Chiefs, who were not really an option before him being released, can now come into play.

On the other hand, Jackson is from Los Angeles so a move to Oakland would put him much closer to home. Oakland would make a ton of sense for Jackson should he decide to sign there. Whether or not the Raiders are willing to make that move is another question.

Jackson to the raiders sounds right..cause once he comes in with his skillz combined with this offseason pick ups watch out now.

    • Brian Martasin

Ya nuthin like adding a washed up Tuck and Woodley along with resigning old man Woodson.

    • calciomoti

Skillz huh…Jackson would be the only one in Oakland with skillz left…the rest are washed up. This offseason for Oakland reminds of the Carson Palmer trade x10 hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! @Oakland fans trying to convince themselves they will contend.

Oakland could be disastrous if there is much truth to the gang rumors floating around. If he comes to KC he can be in a rap video with Hali instead.. :-D

I think he will choose the Raiders because it’s close to home. Since he kept his ties with the gang while working in Philly, I feel he would do the same from KC. If he goes to the Raiders, his ties with the gang will probably become stronger than his ties to the locker room and teammates.

I hate to say it but I think you’re right. I hope he makes a wise choice for himself.

Plus Oakland will probably offer him the most money. I just don’t want that attitude in the Chiefs locker room. As Bert said, Reid had some real difficulties keeping him under control in Philly.

This is why you have an agent. He will tell DJ to do the right thing and sign with KC. The raiders is an ied waiting to explode.

The best fit for jackson is seattle” but I dont think the hawks wanna put up serious cash for him…they can find the same tallent or better at a cheaper price if need be..if he lands with the hawks it will be well excepted. …
