Poll: What Wide Receiver Fits The Chiefs Best?

There has been a lot of discussion this off season about what the Chiefs should do with their first round pick, and much of it seems centered around whether or not the Chiefs should select a wide receiver in the first round. While we will continue to debate what John Dorsey should do at number 23 overall, let’s assume for today the Chiefs do elect to take a wide receiver. Who should they take?

There are several candidates who could be around with the Chiefs pick: Odell Beckham Jr., Marqise Lee, and Brandin Cooks seem to be at the top of most people’s list. So which one is the best fit? All three have great speed and are elusive with the ball in their hands. All three were very productive in college. All three have played against top college competition and have been successful. All of this makes choosing between the three very difficult.

So if all three of Beckham Jr., Lee, and Cooks are available to the Chiefs in the first round, who should they pick? Let us who you voted for and why in the comments.

I would be happy with any of them, but am partial to Cooks because of his great hands. He seems to have the best hands of the bunch and I’m ready for the Chiefs to get a WR that is finally consistent in that department.

      I’m with him! ^^^

I personally like Evans of A&M. I’ve seen him and Beckham play the most, and like them both. Beckham has more speed, but Evans is a big guy that catches everything that hits his hands. To me speed is secondary. First they have to get open and catch the ball.

Evans is a top 15 pick. KC wont even come close to getting him. My pick is defense with 1st pick and Donte Moncrief in the 3rd.

Good chance that Evans will be gone at 23, although I’ve seem sites that rank him at 30th best player. But I have seen more than 23 players named as possible picks that someone says “oh they’ll be gone by 23″. They won’t all be gone.

      I’d rather have evans too!

  • Stacy D. Smith

All three are a great fit for this offense. I like Beckham/Cooks over Lee because of his injury concerns.

  • Montez K.

Brandin Cooks. Faster, better hands, and he isn’t afraid of that middle….can’t forget about production. I don’t see why people are mentioning Beckham–we don’t need anybody else from LSU–bad luck. I’d be good with Lee…but my gut tells me Cooks.

  • berttheclock

Cooks can get open in a heartbeat and, then, use his speed to blast past defenders.

  • Hawthorne

Cooks has the best speed and the best hands and runs the best routes. In Reid’s offense he would be great, then we grab L’ Damian Washington in the 5th or 6th to develop behind Bowe.

  • KCMikeG

I vote for Beckham. Cooks is only .10 of a second faster and doesn’t have near the return experience of Beckham. Lee isn’t a returner and has injury & issues with drops.
