Report: Emmanuel Sanders To Sign With Denver Broncos

So much for all the speculation and reading the tea leaves. Adam Schefter is reporting the Denver Broncos will sign Emmanuel Sanders to a contract.

This comes out of nowhere as indications were Sanders would end up in either Kansas City or San Francisco. It turns out it will be neither.

Sanders will fill the roster spot left open by Eric Decker and will fit nicely in the slot once Wes Welker is a free agent after the 2014 season. So the fit makes sense.

The Chiefs are now left to fill their wide receiver needs with cheaper options. Jason Avant and Joe Morgan are known to be on the Chiefs radar and may combine to be the solution the team is looking for in the slot. Kansas City could also spend a draft pick or two on a wide receiver. This draft is expected to be very deep at the position.

We’ll let you know when there is a confirmation of Schefter’s report. For now, let this be your Denver Broncos venting post.

      Aggravating is more like it!

  • Travis Forsyth

just another “dream team” that’s going to fail!!!! I hope… SCREW DENVER!!!!

    • T.Hagen

No amount of free agents the donkey’s aquire will soothe the ass whupin they got in the super bowl. The donkey’s got one more shot at the big game then I think it’s going to be years of rebuilding to get to that level again. I think the Chiefs will be more successful for longer.

  • Arrowhead Magic

Even with the loss of Decker, they really weren’t in need of another pass catcher. This is probably a screw you from Elway to us.

    • T.Hagen

Elway the horse headed baby that refused to play for the team that drafted him.

  • tazer15

Long list of WRs out there left Jones, Rice, Holmes, Britt, Austin, Lafell

    • calciomoti

I don’t care who it is, along as they catch the damn ball when it hits their hands (Avery)…

    • Arrowhead Magic

I’m surprised Dorsey hasn’t reached out to James Jones. He always seemed to be a reliable receiver to me.

    • tazer15

I too thought there may be a Dorsey Jones connection. There are a few on that list you could maybe do a sign cheap and prove to us type contract.

    • Tyler_KC_Fan

LaFell signed with NE about an hour ago. Britt hasn’t played quality football since his injury, Austin can’t stay healthy, Rice can’t stay healthy either.

I’d take either Jones or Holmes though. Jones is getting a little old, but he can still play at a high level and Holmes can be a diva but he was the Jets offense before getting hurt.

Jones, Holmes, Britt, Austin, Rice would be my order of preference.

      • tazer15

I pretty much agree I wanted Jones a couple years ago when he was FA really bad.I would say hes not as perfect now as he was then but would love to have him.Id say hell bring the most money of that group.Unless someone wants to take another risk on Holmes.Im sure Holmes numbers reflect the QBs hes had last couple years tho.Prob end up with Avant but its nice to play armchair GM.

  • nick lein

get the fuck out of here he signs with denver while in KC Really?

  • Jim Harper

Where is Denver getting all this money? They were already paying Manning the farm!

    • Nicholas Abuhl

I was the wondering the same thing.. must be crazy sign on bonus.. Reminds me of another Denver team that was way over cap and paid for it for a long time. But got the ring.

    • berttheclock

Papa John’s is giving out franchises.

      • Jim Harper

That’s a good one But really what was their cap number going in?

  • sidibeke

I want to beat Denver next year very badly.

  • Kenneth Hedlund

    They can have him.

  • Rob Base

Baby Elway strikes again is there a dislike button for that guy! Hasn’t signed yet Aaron Wilson said on twitter it hasent happened yet but it could on Sunday. Can’t stand the Donkeys!!!

  • ladner morse

I can’t wait until Manning is done. The Broncos won’t have a “team” once that happens. Just Elway, a bunch of fond memories and wishful thinking.

  • Roc

This just fuels my hatred for Denver even more.

    • Rob Base

      I’m right there with ya!

  • Brian Dempsey

This smacks of the same type of fishy scenario that went on in ’97 and ’98.

    • Rich Cooper

Pat Bowlen insults the intelligence of every NFL fan. No competitive advantage in circumventing salary cap. Ya sure. That’s the entire reason it’s there! Pats & Donks #cheaters

      • Brian Dempsey

Bowlen is a clever liar, just like his twin brother Elway.

  • Danny W

The Denver Yankee’s just signed another. I guess the rich just keep getting richer.

  • Larry Devore

When did sanders get to Denver?

  • GDL40

Dodged A bullet there ! Not sure why everyone is so upset, according to ESPN he wanted a big contract AND has health concerns with a screw in each one of his feet. And last post I read here about these concerns most fans were over Sanders and wanted no part of it. Glad we didn’t get him for that contract with those concerns…..winner how much he’s gonna get

    • GDL40

*WONDER* how much he’s gonna get

Word from here in Denver, CO – John Elway sold the Bronco Vision on The Phone while
Sanders was in KC for 36 hours. Again, on the Phone *ridiculous* Chiefs Call & Sell the
Vision to James Jones. I thought I saw enough of Elway Crush my Chiefs heart when he was playing….now he still outworks the Chiefs Front office. Regardless of screws in Sanders foot. Broncos now have 4 WR and 1 TE that can Ball. Meanwhile, Chiefs want to sign J. Avant *sigh*

    • berttheclock

“Outworks”? Try bringing in a scumbag agent in Weinberg, who lost 42 clients in 2000 when he had his certification to represent revoked. Only recently, was he allowed back and he only has two clients. Try finding out more about what this piece of garbage did after agreeing in principle with Dorsey. There was no “Outworking” done by Elway. It was the work of a very corrupt agent.

      • gonzangkc1

Update from Denver: While Elway as on the phone with Sanders. J. Elway had Manning and other Bronco player speak and SEAL the deal with Sanders. After Sanders spoke with the current Bronco players, Sanders was sold. I’m pretty darn sure Dorsey DIDN’T have A. Smith and any current chiefs player. If Dorsey DID and Sanders still signed with Broncos…wow goes to show you. Yes. Dorsey got Outworked. Elway has 3 years experience as a GM and Dorsey 20+ years. *ridiculous*. DORSEY pick up the phone LEARN from this experience sign James Jones. It’s been over 15 years that Chiefs have had a True #1 & True#2 rcvr on the field at the same time.

      • mnelson52

Tampa and Denver both denied knowing that Weinberg had agreed on a contract with the Chiefs. That doesn’t really matter because they know now and are still going to sign him.

  •'defer='defer upperturion

hahahaha WOW, he signs w/ the Doinkers while being wined & dined in KC…………………………unreal. Manning will put him in the pro bowl. Hopefully a good omen though … under embarrassing circumstances!

  • Tyler_KC_Fan

I honestly don’t care that Sanders didn’t sign with the Chiefs and instead signed with the Broncos. Would I have liked to have him on the team, yeah it would have been nice.

The big issue I have with him signing with the Broncos is the way it happened. His agent was shaddy in the way he handled every. Their is an article on about the way it all happened and it may “be part of the business” and I may see it and hate so much it so much because it happened to the Chiefs, but when you agree to a deal with a team you typically don’t go back on them. The article said his agent used the Chiefs contract, that they agreed to sign, to help get more money. Tampa then jumped in and then they used that contract to get Denver to jump in. I understand agents using other teams contracts that they haven’t agreed to, to help boost their players contract money, but when you agree to sign with a team and say “we are signing with you” and shake hands, thats a different story in my opinion.

Fuck steve weinberg and fuck emanuel sanders. Somebody take the motherfuckers head off
