Wow. Teachers week off in Dallas, eh? Lots of things you’ve covered.

Glad you picked up the hurries as too many just concentrate on sacks. Pressures can be very effective, as well, as hurries present that “hurry up element to the QB”. One interesting aside about the pickup of Walker. He is 26 and the Chiefs are trying to stay younger. His replacement in Oakland is Antonio Smith from the Texans, who is 32 and they brought in 31 year old Tuck, as well.

Your comments about kickers reminds me of the time the late great Alex Karras was asked about kickers. He spoke about the tremendous effort put forth by a team, with all of the grunting and groaning going on to even get within FG range, only to have the kicker, after his kick, say, “I KEEK a Touchdown”.

Nobody is going to follow Adam Teicher unless they hate the chiefs. That dude bashes the chiefs in every article he writes. We have constantly told him to go write for some other team like buffalo or Minnesota if u want to constantly bash and get away with it

Tristian, you really should read his latest comment about the signings of both May and Walker. It is up this AM and is very upbeat about what Dorsey has done. I liked the part where he said Dorsey, now, will be able to concentrate on building the offense.

No… I’m not a Teicher fan… but I would be remiss to not mention him in this list. He often offers an unfettered critics few that you won’t find here on AA… and for me that can be a starting point to understanding issues Dorsey and Reid are facing. I rarely agree with Rush Limbaugh either… but I’ll listen to him at times to understand that side of things. Same with Teicher.

Plus… when it’s FA week… you need all the tweaks and peaks into Dorsey’s panties you can get.

The thing about Teischer is when he critiques the Chiefs he has a way of making himself sound like a Bronco fan! When he gives info. as to what is going on inside the org. he does a fair job. My opinion. My thoughts on the draft; if you have 7 picks a year and avg. career is 3.5 yrs. you better have confidence in your picks!

I wish they would get rid of the pat, go for 2 every time.

    • ladner morse

      I’d be okay with that.

And how about this… on a drive… once a team is inside the 10… they can’t kick a field goal… and they can’t purposely lose yardage on third down to do it either. In fact, once they’ve reached the 10… no matter what happens… they must go for a TD.

Sorry. I guess I am mostly a purist and the EP and Field goal form anywhere on the field are an integral part of the competition in the NFL. They both make coaches take chances at some point in a game or season. I might be for making it from the 10 or 15 yard line, but not from beyond that. It is a single point, so why make it as hard as a regular field goal????

  • berttheclock

Laddie, have you been able to find out whether or not there is any truth to the rumor, that some of the Chiefs seeking FAcy signings with other teams, had called Dorsey and sang “Please, release me, let me go, ’cause I don’t love the money from the Chiefs any more, to live a lie would be a sin, so, release me and let me smell new money once again”.

    • ladner morse

Wow bert… you’re going to have to record that and post it… ala Glee…..

    • berttheclock

Of course, you don’t want players on your team, who cry out, “Please, Mr Custer, I don’t wanna go…..”

  • Michael Shaw

I have been to London and actually got to see 2 of the games that Dante Hall played in for the Scottish Claymores, so my opinion is this……….NO!!! Europe is all about soccer for us, Futbol for them and the NFL will likely lose more money than they will gain by starting/moving a franchise there. Playing one game in the country, or now as we see this year’s schedule, THREE games over there will not be nearly as costly to the NFL as installing a franchise over there. There is a reason that NFL Europe was NOT a success!!!!

My greatest enlightened thought this week has been if I had a client to be a FA next year I wouldn’t let him sign until. Houston should get paid next year!!!
