San Francisco 49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh Talks Alex Smith And The Chiefs

In case you haven’t heard — and if you haven’t you’ve been living under a rock because it’s all anybody is talking about — the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh was in town visiting his in-laws and took in a KU basketball game. While he was there — dressed in his traditional 49ers black sweatshirt and hat — he had a chance to talk to the team and do a couple of interviews.

During one of those interviews, at the game where Harbaugh introduced his father-in-law who was celebrating his 77th birthday at the game, the reporter indicated that the Kansas City Chiefs would be heading to California during the 2014 season to face the 49ers.

“Yeah, we’ve got Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs so that will be a tough one for us.” – Jim Harbaugh.

This is perhaps one of the top match ups of the 2014 season as Smith will return to California to face his former team. Although the 2014 schedule won’t be published until sometime next month, I would be willing to bet a couple months of pay checks that it will be a prime-time game — maybe even on Monday Night Football. Either way, let’s hope the Chiefs provide that “tough” opponent Harbaugh thinks they are.

The entire schedule in 2014 for the Chiefs will be one tough mofo.

Except the Raiders. And maybe the Titans. And the Steelers…but other than that…yeah, you’re right.

I still believe KC will be a play-off team even with the tougher schedule! Those last couple pieces aside, the culture is different… That alone has brought us to another level!!! Should we be fortunate enough that R&D find those (or some) pieces is what will determine how far the Chiefs will go…

The main factor in getting back to the post-season is keep Alex Smith upright and in one piece. At least that’s my belief until proven wrong.

Thats why I believe it so important to resign what we can of the OL from last year… Albert is gone that we know as his salary is much to high, but Schwartz & Asamoah I would like to see back.

I’m with you. Honestly, early on predictions, I have us at 10-6 which is where I thought we were last year at this time of the year. We’ll see.

Watch out for the new defense with the Titans under the very under estimated Ray Horton. Ray Horton was a tough defensive player and he is a very tough minded defensive coach.

That’s who I wanted Reid to hire last year as KC’s defensive coordinator.

    Iron sharpens iron!
Last year’s schedule was a great confidence building season for a group of great players trying to convince they are a good team! This years schedule will be a great litmus test to discover if the Chiefs are becoming a powerful team that can threaten to win Super Bowl or if they are a set of greatly talented players who don’t have the fortitude to beat the powers of the NFL!

    Hopefully that’s a Sunday Nighter.

Or Thursday night game or, better yet, Monday Night Football baby!!!!
