An ACL tear at the end of last season is going to keep Murray from doing much at the combine, but we are going to find out some information about how he is progressing in his rehab.

Murray could be a guy who falls very late in the draft because of his injury red flag. He’s already got a knock against him because of his height, and not everyone believes in his arm. But his performance on the field in the nation’s most difficult conference suggests he could be a good NFL quarterback.

A four-year starter, Murray threw for 13,166 yards, 121 touchdowns (41 interceptions), and won 36 games. He’s shown an ability to make all of the throws, is tough in the pocket, and played against some of the best defenses college football has to offer. His production plus his arm strength and accuracy makes him a very interesting prospect. Especially if he is going to drop in the later rounds of the draft.

What we need to find out from the combine is how well his knee is progressing and get the official height measurement. He is listed as being somewhere between 6-0 and 6-2, so if he comes in somewhere closer to 6-2 that would be ideal.

When it comes to the Chiefs, Murray would be an interesting guy to have paired with Tyler Bray as the team’s backup quarterbacks. Each have big arms and high upside, and could end up being very successful quarterbacks in the NFL. This would also give the Chiefs the chance to move Chase Daniel to open some cap space.
