Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning, and especially in the middle of the afternoon when things are starting to drag.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Fix.

It’s Thursday on the final week of the 2013 NFL season and at the Mothership this morning, Chiefs Insider Reid Ferrin is looking at several members of the team who are up for awards at Saturday night’s NFL Awards show. One of those awards is the “AP Comeback Player of the Year” nominee, Alex Smith.

"In 2012, then-49ers QB Alex Smith started 10 regular season games for San Francisco, helping the club reach Super Bowl XLVII. Prior to being sidelined with a Week 10 injury against the St. Louis Rams, Smith threw for 1,737 yards, with 13 TDs and 5 INTs (104.1 passer rating). One year (and a trade to the Chiefs) later, in his first year in KC, the 2014 Pro Bowl QB, Smith finished 308 of 508 (60.6%) for 3,313 yards, 23 TDs and 7 INTs (89.1 passer rating), as well as 76 carries for 431 yards (5.7 avg) and one TD run that is worth watching again and again."

While we’re pretty certain that 95 percent of Chiefs Kingdom will NOT be supporting the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Super Bowl XLVIII, there is one member of the Chiefs who not only will be supporting them, but may be wearing their colors. Sam Mellinger from the Kansas City Star has the full scoop.

"OK, well, it’s just that Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt kind-of, sort-of, maybe, definitely will be wearing some type of Broncos gear for the Super Bowl this weekend.“I don’t know if you should quote me on that,” says Britton Colquitt, Dustin’s younger brother and the Broncos’ punter. “But he said he would, to support me.”"

Don’t forget that picks 19-24 will be posting today starting at noon Arrowhead time in the first ever AA Writers Mock Draft. That means you’ll get to see who Senior Contributor Damian Nelson, aka Double D, mocked to the Chiefs. Don’t mis that!

Finally today, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will participate in a live chat this evening where fans will be able to submit questions via Twitter.

Here are the details:
