The San Diego Chargers travel to Kansas City to meet the Chiefs this morning and Phillip Rivers will only have to step outside to see that he’s not in sunny Southern California anymore. The weather report for today’s game is calling for cold temperatures that will only barely crest the freezing mark during game time.

When the game kicks off at 12:00 (CST), the air temperature will be 30 degrees but because of the five mph wind it will have a “real feel” of 25 degrees. It’s not going to get much better, only topping out at about 33 degrees during the contest.

The temperatures could be in the Chiefs favor as the Chargers will have to make the biggest adjustment to the weather. Where the Chargers live, it’s twice as warm at nearly 60 degrees. This could prove a difficult hurdle for Rivers and the rest of the Chargers to overcome on top of the fact that they’re facing a tough Chiefs team, rebounding from a painful loss at the loudest stadium in the world.

And noise travels better when it’s cold.

Good luck,Rivers. I hope you don’t find yourself backed up in your end zone today.
