Khalil Mack – 6’3 248lbs – Buffalo

Yes, there is a Buffalo University. And while you may not have known of the college’s existence, everyone should know who Khalil Mack is. Mack is one of the most impressive defensive players in NCAA history and that’s no exaggeration. He is third in NCAA history in tackles for loss with 67 and there’s still time to rack up more. Baylor coach Art Briles recently compared him to All-Pro linebacker Von Miller. In arguably the biggest game of Buffalo’s season against Ohio State, Mack shined. He had nine tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a pick six returned 45 yards. In 2011, he had 65 tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, two passes defended, and five forced fumbles. In 2012, he totaled 94 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, two passes broken up, four forced fumbles, and one blocked kick. All in all this year, Mack has 59 tackles, 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble, three interceptions, four passes defended, and 11.5 tackles for a loss. If consistency is an intangible that NFL scouts favor, they’ll be impressed with Mack. He has great pursuit skills, great instincts, and isn’t afraid to hit hard. He’s learned more pass rush moves than most retain in college and will likely be a top 15 pick in the upcoming draft.
