Spread Game Analyst/Special Projects Coach Brad Childress was asked about his unusual job title and what he actually does for the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I think, number one, trends around the league – what people are doing. I do some advance work. For instance, in our short week against Philadelphia, coach [Reid] said, ‘Why don’t you get a jump on them?’ Because we weren’t going to have much time. We came right back in Monday and practiced with the guys. I could be looking at somebody who’s underperforming, or over performing – if you will – why they’re having their successes. John Dorsey may give me some quarterbacks to look at, which he did when I first came in here, some wide receivers to look at, grade. It’s a little bit of everything, it’s a hodgepodge.”

The fact that Andy Reid has brought in so many smart football minds to work with him is a testament to why this 2-14 team is able to 9-0 heading into their bye week.

Get ready..I do believe we will see his “true” purpose in the next few upcoming games (Remember the Dallas game).

There is no doubt that he must have noticed something in the underneath coverage of the Eagles because the Chiefs were able to abuse the Philly D with those quick passes to Avery. That was really one of the only times this year I thought the KC offense had the other team’s number.

Hopefully they can figure out how to move the ball against the Broncos because if they don’t, there is no chance of winning. I think the Chiefs need to be aggressive if they want to beat the Donks.

On defense, it doesn’t look like Manning is able to get the ball down field very well this year so the Chiefs need to figure out away to disguise their coverages in the short to intermediate passing game. With KC playing so much man, I am terrified of those pick plays the Broncos run all the time. The Chiefs need to find an answer there.

They ain’t gon beat the broncos with an Alex Smith led offense. Its gone take more than 125 yards and 0 tds of game management from Alex.
