Defensive Backs Coach Emmitt Thomas on Being 9-0: "The ball is bouncing our way."

Defensive Backs Coach Emmitt Thomas has been with the organization for quite some time. When asked about the team’s unprecedented 9-0 run, he had this to say:

“First of all, I played here for a few years and then left and was gone for a while. This is my fourth year back and I’m very happy to be back and I feel blessed to get another opportunity to work for the Hunts and Kansas City. 9-0 is extremely great right now. We had the wildest imagination at the beginning of the season and training camp and we had no idea we would be here, but you never know how the ball is bounced. I think the quarterback is coming in and giving us a lift and the guys are playing well. The ball is bouncing our way, so we’re very happy.”

It’s nice for a guy like Coach Thomas who has been with the Chiefs for all the “dark days” to finally have some success.

You gotta wonder if Emmett Thomas isn’t an AWESOME DB coach… Our DBS have been stellar since his return…

I agree, but at the same time wonder how much of it is the pass rush. Secondary looked a lot better when we were getting 5-10 sacks and constant pressure on opposing qb’s. Lately…. not so much.
