Chiefs vs. Raiders: Live Game Thread

Another Sunday, another chance for a Kansas City Chiefs victory.

Andy Reid, John Dorsey and Alex Smith will try to continue their remarkable start as the new regime in KC.

The opponent is the Oakland Raiders and there is no question that the boys in silver and black would like nothing more than to spoil the Chiefs’ perfect season. Sunday also represents a pivotal game for Oakland. The Raiders are hoping for another strong performance from young QB Terrelle Pryor. They will also look to move to .500. In a division that sports two undefeated teams, the Raiders desperately need division victories if they hope to fight for a playoff spot.

Another storyline heading into today’s game is the Kansas City fan base’s attempt to break the Guinness world record for loudest crowd roar. The mark was set a few weeks ago by the fans of the Chiefs’ former division rival, the Seattle Seahawks.

It is almost game time, Addicts! Join us in the comments of this post for our live game thread.

Time for final predictions. Will the Chiefs defeat the Raiders today? Final score?

I say Chiefs 27, Raiders 13

Ready to rock! Kick it off Patrick!

  • Chris Tarrants

Probably my only post, maybe half time? Let me tell you guys this, we are still 10 minutes or so from kickoff and you can feel the electricity in arrowhead today! Like nothing in experienced here before

    • Heilios

Lucky sob! Make the record for us! Arrowhead is gonna be rockin!

  • steve james

Good luck on the record attempt! It will take a superhuman effort & a full house. 31-10 Chiefs Houston 2 sacks Berry another pick six & a sack. Hali & Poe one apiece. Pryor out with a concussion. I don’t wish harm on anyone but that is how I see it going down.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

I think a safety could cause the crowd to break the sound record.

    • JDInOregon

Yes, sack that smirky Lamonica in the end zone! (Sorry….someone had to make a 1960′s reference.)

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Don’t like that Flowers is out. Not one bit.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Come on JC

  • ladner morse

    Alex Smith houdini……

  • 44WinMag

Bowe comes out on 3rd down?

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

How could nobody be open? They rushed 6. KC’s receivers are not good enough or Alex is a chicken.

  • Blake Molina

I hate that they are having designated attempts for the noise record. What a run by Alex

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

They are stacking the box. This game is on Alex.

    • 44WinMag

Everyone with any brains will do that.

      • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Yep. I’d be running slip screens with Jamaal and Dex like crazy against this defense. With the man coverage, I’d throw it right behind Bowe and let him wall off his man. Should be an easy 7 yards, maybe more.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Annnd he misses a wide open receiver.

  • Heilios

That was a hell of a hit!

  • ladner morse

Nice to see Ron Parker making a statement.

  • Blake Molina

Dave Toun knows what he’s doing!

    • Blake Molina

      Toub*

  • Canad-Ian

Can’t believe how badly Eric Fisher was beat on the first play of the game. Ugh.

  • Blake Molina

BEAUTIFULLY orchestrated pas rush. Poe’s double team and the linebacker stunt was perfect

  • Heilios

Three and out now time to get moving on offense. Get bowe involved quick!

    • ladner morse

Yep… they were playing 5 yards off the line so Bowe could be open for some quick slants

      • tm1946

Like it but the Chiefs have not thrown one slant to Bowe this season.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Chiefs need to get aggressive on offense. Attack this defense. They aren’t that good.

    • JDInOregon

Anyone know how Avery’s shoulder is doing?

    • Heilios

Hell yeah. Let Charles and mccluster run wild then punish them with bowe!

    • tm1946

Have to do it passing, with our offensive history this year, could be a struggle.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Raiders have a spy on Alex.

  • tm1946

raiders are playing man to man and our WR are not getting anything.

  • ladner morse

Some one has to fix this offensive line.

    • tm1946

Guess Fisher will not get the blame this time.

  • 44WinMag

Are they giving Capt Checkdown any Checkdowns?

  • Blake Molina

Draft need next year: WIDE RECEIVER. Somebody’s gotta get open, need weapons to enable Smith to not have to hold on to the ball so long

    • 44WinMag

      Quarterback is still Need 1

      • tm1946

Get over it, Smith will get 2 or more years to prove he is NOT the guy.

        • 44WinMag

Great he can play while the young guy is groomed.

    • tm1946

Too early, but probably correct. Not sure the “why” behind the lack of WR support

      • Blake Molina

I just don’t think defense respect our WR’s enough. If we got a legitimate 1st round WR, it would open Bowe up more, and prevent stacking the box, which of course opens the run game

        • 44WinMag

It’s the QB they don’t respect, AS is too timid in releasing the ball.

    • Bill Jones

After we let Albert walk we will go o-line. I can see it.

      • Blake Molina

I’m fine with that too, if there’s a player available at the draft spot. Those are our two glaring needs

      • tm1946

        ESP? Injuried two plays later.

  • Heilios

    Our d is on today!

    • tm1946

raiders will break under that pressure, IF the offense can find some kind of way to function.

    • JDInOregon

Sounds like a defensive classic game in the making, on both sides. Could someone win this game 10-6 or such?

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

The fact of the matter is that the Chiefs offense plays the same no matter how poor the defense they are playing is. They struggled at times vs. the Jags, Giants and Cowboys. The Raiders are not a top NFL defense. They’re just taking away the middle, spying Smith and daring him to beat them on the outside and so far this season, he hasn’t really proven he can do that. That is reality. It doesn’t make anyone an “Alex hater.” Just sensible. Everyone is pulling for Smith and everyone wants to see him do it. But facts are facts, even for fans.

    • 44WinMag

He excels at short dump passes though.

      • tm1946

Still say if he can execute it, over and over, why not?

  • JDInOregon

    Move the chains! Yes.

  • tm1946

Side issues these TV announcers, so far, are not in love with the Chief’s opponent.
Wish the Chiefs had their red pants today.

  • JDInOregon

Chiefs radio says Albert is hurt.

  • tm1946

Knile fumbles it after the hit and Albert is holding his thigh. Self fulfilling two some.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Smith only pretended to look down field on that play. Raiders never believed he wasn’t checking down to Knile (who of course fumbled).

  • Blake Molina

    Great play for Charles.
Smith may not finish this game if something doesn’t change pass protection

  • ladner morse

Jeff Allen sucks. MUST get him off the field!

    • tm1946

Got no one else. If they had Lenny Dawson’s moving pocket, or WR who got some separation or a TE in seams of drag behind WRs. But they do not.

      • ladner morse

        Stephenson, Schwartz, Hudson, Asamoah, Fisher

        • tm1946

Ok, maybe for one game but we need, NEED, Reid’s starter to do the job.

  • tm1946

That is what we need Colquitt to do, mia last week and the punt before this one.

  • Bill Jones

I believe we are watching McCluster play his last season with the Chiefs. Contract year and he just doesn’t make the plays when the ball is around him. Not bad on special teams but not worth brining back for the money he will want.

  • Davé

We won’t set the record for sound. We should set a record for touches in a single game by just giving it to Jamaal every play.

  • 44WinMag

Watch ‘em go 97 yds, bastards.

  • tm1946

Watch out DL, they rush and back off, do not commit totally. Trying to be able to jump Pryor if he runs. Not my idea of a good way to handle it.

    • kccush

      My thought exactly

  • 44WinMag

This game has a bad “feel” to it.

  • Chris Tarrants

God it is loud here! Don’t know if we break the record but my ears haven’t stopped ringing since Johnson’s sack! Enjoy the second quarter

  • tm1946

If the Chiefs do not have a spy on Pryor, they are going to give this game away.

  • 44WinMag

    Need a Turnover.

  • Blake Molina

    Derrick Johnson is EVERYWHERE today

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

or cripes sake. Just let them punt it to you.

  • RepOurChiefs

    blessing in disq!!!!!

  • 44WinMag

Wow, that penalty due to the missed FG was a Field Position gift!

  • RepOurChiefs

    he rarelt misses..make it COUNT!!!!

  • Heilios

Luckily he missed. Awesome field position!

  • ladner morse

    Chiefs are playing with fire.

  • JDInOregon

    Albert back in.

  • RepOurChiefs

    That O-line…smh…wow

    • Blake Molina

It’s more the receivers. It’s kinda hard to protect against 7 guys with 5 guys. Our WRs are completely blanketed right now

  • 44WinMag

How about some in game adjustments on offense?????

  • tm1946

During the replay, 3 WR and not on with a foot of separation. No one to throw to, period.

  • Blake Molina

Play action does no good when you’re not running the ball!

  • Heilios

Someone has got to get open! This is crap!

  • ladner morse

That was just bad play calling and design. You HAVE TO have one of those receivers coming back or making a short cut route.

    • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Yeah were are the TE routes and the underneath stuff with Avery?

  • Davé

Trying to force a long passing game? This play calling is ridiculous

  • david

We need to run the ball…even if it just eats time so the d can rest

  • RepOurChiefs

Dspending tooooo much time on the field

  • tm1946

Maybe we go the Stram route, bench the WRs, go with double TE and run the ball the entire game

  • Heilios

How are we planning on doing anything in the playoffs if we can’t move the damn balk on Oakland?

    • tm1946

What playoffs? Think you have to play 16 games first. Forget the fing playoffs, we need to win today at HOME, AGAINST THE fing raiders, with an offense THAT CAN SCORE A TD,
      Damn it to hell.

  • Bill Jones

Keep telling me how fast Pryor is. That never gets old.

  • Heilios

    Fucking Christ!

  • Davé

    Yea we are a sham

    • Bill Jones

      It does look that way.

    • Heilios

Can’t believe this.someone on offense has to figure out how to get a damn inch of separation!

    • steve james

Raiders always bring it. Saying we are a sham is premature even if they loose.

  • ladner morse

Raiders are really winning in each phase of the game.

    • Bill Jones

It’s as if KC is going through the motions playing with a lead. What gives?

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Sutton needs to swallow his pride and spy Pryor. These drives should never cross the 50. Pryor is not a good passer.

    • Blake Molina

Agreed, but not Houston please. He’s whiffed twice on him

  • Blake Molina

For the love of god can we hand off to Charles now?

  • Joe Myers

    I hate the raiders

    • tm1946

Hate to say it but Pryor is looking comfortable, so much for noise and home field.

      • Joe Myers

        Oh how about now !!!!!

  • ladner morse

I read where raiders opponents are 12-12 whereas Chiefs opponents are 7-17…. so their 3-2 may be just as good as the Chiefs 5-0. Looking like that’s the case right now.

  • Heilios

I would love to see us try a slant to bowe. Who the hell knows it may do something!

  • Heilios

Wow he figured out Bowe is on our team! It’s amazing!

  • Davé

TBH this anemic offense isn’t much of a surprise.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Chiefs are playing too tight. Need a play to loosen up.

  • DXW

Wow, Denver is going to destroy the Chiefs if this is how they play.

    • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Oh yeah. No chance. I don’t care how good the defense is.

      • tm1946

You mean the stud defense who gave up a td on a slant play?

        • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

I mean, shit happens. Berry made a mistake. They’re still good.

          • tm1946

You are correct but hate to seem a team give away a home game. DB are poorly covering the pass, no one seem to spy on Pryor, Shit happens to bad teams, good teams overcome it, not sure which way this team will go.

  • tm1946

With 6:51 left In the 2nd qtr, this team looks more like last years 2-14 team than a 5-0 team leading the league in several catagories. Bunch of crap.

  • Heilios

We have to get going and just play. They look like they are trying to be too conservative. Sometimes you have to let loose and try it deep

  • Davé

Bowe didn’t go to the pro bowl because of separation, he went because he wins the battle of getting the ball. The problem with Alex is he knows he isn’t very accurate so he will never throw into coverage.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Pitiful.

  • Davé

    Just awesome

  • Blake Molina

Reminding me of last year’s offense.

  • Heilios

If our d wasn’t dominating in the league, this game would be out of hand by now

    • tm1946

Game looks like it is getting out of hand as the team is currently playing.

  • 44WinMag

Defense or Special Teams will need to score today.

    • Davé

LOL probably both will need. Alex Smith is a dud.

    • d-block

Looking that way. Offense didn’t show up today. Pathetic.

  • Davé

Going down by 14 before the half?

  • JDInOregon

Okay, it looks like Chiefs offense is miserable today. But it’s ONLY 7-0!

  • rich

Smith plays too conservative. Id like to see what Chase or Bray could do.

  • DXW

So this is the best D in the NFL?

    • Davé

you have no right to criticize this defense man. they have carried us to this 5-0

      • DXW

Yeah, I guess, but I’m not drinking the kool-aid until I see how they play against a top tier offense. I’m not too confident after seeing how they’re struggling against Pryor. But, the game is still young.

        • Davé

Drink on man, Dallas and Eagles both held to 16 points. They not be great teams but they put up 30 on average.

          • DXW

True, but Dallas and Philly aren’t Denver or New Orleans. And if they can’t beat Denver, it doesn’t matter what else they do this year.

          • RepOurChiefs

            Agreed…

    • RepOurChiefs

      10.5 sacks.. 3 and 48.. held faiders to 7.. yea..hate on that D lol

  • 44WinMag

The announcers just jinxed us with the 0-26 talk on 3rd and 10

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Good things tend to happen when #25 has the ball.

    • Davé

      lol

  • 44WinMag

Got to at least get on the board before half.

  • Canad-Ian

Sure looks like Oakland has the best secondary in the league for whatever reason.

  • rich

They need to run a fly route to stretch the defense

    • 44WinMag

Smith will never release the ball.

      • JDInOregon

        Because he will be sacked.

  • Blake Molina

I know he shouldn’t get a heavy load for durability issues, but we need Charles to get the ball to open up things for the offense.

    • kccush

He is the only one who should touch the ball

  • RepOurChiefs

    JC made a awesome block

  • tm1946

    Albert down again. wow.

  • 44WinMag

    Albert’s done for the day.

  • tm1946

Got rolled up on, OL never stop fighting until the time to huddle up. Slack up, look around and you get hurt.

  • Heilios

    Touchdown Charles!!!!

  • rich

    Where is duck dynasty today?

  • Blake Molina

What a run, hopefully this gives us confidence going into halftime, gets the offense going

    • RepOurChiefs

no worries..and much as i wld like to see our team jump out to early leads..we are a closer type team..best is ahead

      • Blake Molina

I agree, I just hope it helps the offense find a comfort zone

      • aka_Gent

Agreed. The slow and sure tortoise strategy that Reid seems to be employing is working out just fine. That strategy would be significantly enhanced however if KC could move the ball more than two or three yards on the ground. Those guys really need to start breaking their first tackles.

No matter. We take the win… and leave the style points to the attention whores in Denver.

        Six…and Oh!

  • JDInOregon

    Charles is so incredible.

  • Heilios

Defense needs to take it away and run it back for us!

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Whoah. That was a false start.

  • 44WinMag

I feel an Interception coming on

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Two in a row.

  • RepOurChiefs

    12TH MAN!!!!

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Gotta be a draw here.

  • Canad-Ian

25 and 82 are good, we should center our offense around them

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    False start again

  • Heilios

The false starts are amazing! I can’t imagine how loud it is there!

  • Chris Tarrants

glad my wife brought Aleve with her! the stadium is literally shaking! I bet we have made needles move on seizmic readers. Record or not Arrowhead is back and homefield is an advantage for us again

    • Heilios

How’s the atmosphere? I bet we will get the record!

      • Chris Tarrants

its crazy, this is my 8th game but first time like this. I keep getting goose bumps man. You can literally feel the energy in the air! I cant really explain it, awesome feeling just awesome

  • Davé

I keep waiting for out Offense to gain some ground, it just doesn’t look like its going to happen. Alex will not throw into coverage though with Bowe and Avery you should. If you think Rodgers, Brees and Manning only throw to wide open receivers…..perhaps Alex just doesn’t believe he is capable of throwing it into a tight spot. It’s unfortunate he is so overly cautious, our defense is so good you can afford to be a little more aggressive on offense.

    • Joe Myers

Yup but we will see about the 2nd half

    • Danny W

He was inaccurate today any way… Didnt look good at all.

  • Blake Molina

Sean Smith might be the best FA pickup this year besides Alex.

    TAMBA

  • Heilios

Surely they made some offensive changes at halftime right???

    • kccush

      Yeah Charles and more Charles

      • Heilios

I like it! You’re hired good sir!

  • Blake Molina

What a creative play! That’s a confidence booster

  • Heilios

Hope we dont need that timeout in the 4th

  • kccush

They switched sides tamba and Houston on that last defensive play

  • Heilios

    Hell yeah Bowe!!!!!

    • tm1946

His best effort of the entire season.

  • Canad-Ian

Did anybody else hear Alex Smith? “Time out Time out Time out. F@*#!!”

  • Heilios

    Punch it in guys!!!

  • Heilios

    Good pocket presence Smith!

  • Blake Molina

    Suck it Alex Smith haters

    • Jarad

??? Im confused. Are you saying he is good?Because he isnt!

      • Blake Molina

I’m sorry, you’re right. Let’s bring back Matt Cassel. Brady Quinn. Brodie Croyle. Tyler Palko. Tyler Thigpen. Damon Huard. How could I be SO obtuse?

  • tm1946

Can A. Smith get a little love here.

    • Heilios

I’m giving it, but Avery just killed our steam!

  • Heilios

    GoD DAMNIT!!

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Smith’s throws was too high. Avery had enough time to secure it so that is on him but the extra time gave the Raiders corner plenty of time to rev up to lay a lick.

    • Heilios

That’s gonna come back to bite us. I just know it

  • Blake Molina

Of course. Rivalry games for you.

  • Blake Molina

That reminds me, Chiefs have cut down on the penalties noticeably

  • Heilios

Beat the sound record and stuff Pryor in the endzone. That would be a good way to start this back upright!

  • Blake Molina

Guys Dennis Allen said a swear. Arrowhead is loud

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Dang nabbit.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Offensive interference for sure.

  • JDInOregon

Oakland can’t hear the play clock.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Give the rock to Jamaal.

  • Blake Molina

Woo! That was a gimme! Now we’re seeing McCluster get the rock! This is good

  • Davé

They definitely changed some stuff up in the second half,

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Huge penalty.

  • Jared Watson

I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t care how ugly KC looks in this game I just want the win against the Raiders to break this 6 game losing streak.

  • Blake Molina

Lololololol poor Oakland. No matter who they have coaching them, they can never stop committing penalties

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Finally we have a coach that will give the best running back in the NFL the ball in the red zone. What a crazy idea.

    • Davé

yea man, JC must be stoked.

  • JDInOregon

    It’s the Kansas City Charleses.

  • Davé

Seems as if we are able to turn it on before the fourth. Maybe by week 11 we will play four quarters of competent offensive series.

  • Blake Molina

I’d like to make a note on how stellar the coverage has been on kickoffs and punts today

  • Blake Molina

It was only matter of time before the crowd noise and inexperience would get to the Raider offense.

  • ladner morse

I’m interested to see if the Chiefs superior physical conditioning will help them take over and control the game from here on out.

  • kccush

    They are trying everything

  • ladner morse

    Cooooooooooop!

  • Blake Molina

Rod Streater is no Cruz or Bryant, but wow Cooper is shutting him down

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

Foolish to pass on first down there. Come on Andy. Eat the clock.

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    Chalres Woodson is not amused.

  • Davé

    Dex was wide open

  • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

    offsides. Damn

  • JDInOregon

Chiefs radio saying something might be wrong with Pryor’s throwing hand.

  • ladner morse

    H&H train wrecks

  • Heilios

Go for the throat! Kill this game and move on!

  • Merlin_Arrowhead_Addict

Hammer time. Chiefs need to put this game away with this drive.

  • JDInOregon

Minus 38 yards for Raiders on that series.

  • kccush

    That defense wooooo

  • Heilios

Gotta love the delay of game penalties!

  • Blake Molina

48 yards to a 1st…Oakland remembered they’re Oakland. Eat clock and put some kind of points on the board please, that’ll ice it.

  • Davé

Smith is just not accurate with distance throws

    • David Fritch

      Yes anything over 5 yards…

  • Davé

What a joke. Way to thank our defense for stellar play.

  • Jarad

Where are the Alex Smith supporters now!? Suzie??? He is NOT a good QB. He is a conservative game mnager at best

    • chiefs7474

Yet we stand at 6-0 with Alex Smith as our QB… Dipshit

      • Jarad

Dipshit?? C’mon man, does it hurt your feelings thst i disagree with u?? Youre an adult right? Hes a decent QB, an upgrade, but his abilities will hold this team back. Does anyone disagree that the Championship will go thru Denver? If thats the case, we need more points from the O.

        • Danny W

smith had a horrible day He’s not had a great day yet. He’s average at best

    • http://www.arrowheadaddict.com Patrick Allen

He is a good QB. He just has limitations. So do our receivers. Bad QB’s and even game managers don’t win as much as this guy has.

      • Jarad

Even this defense wont get a win gainst Denver when the Offense cant score. Even with my Alex / oline frustration , im loving this season. Just think its going to be the downfall for this team.

      • Danny W

Our defense is winning these games .

    • steve james

Dude really!? Take your blinders off. Dude is a baller and just wins. 6-0 how the F can you be down on the man now? Not saying not to have your doubts but jeez! No team has ever went 2-14 then 6-0 and you are very vocal in deriding the qb that led the team! Dude! Not to be a dick but STFU!

      • Jarad

Dont cry . STFU really??? Are you 15? This team cannot go down the field with him. You think 17, 20, 23 points is going to beat Denver? You are as ignorant as your comment made you look. Job well done kiddo.

        • steve james

You make me laugh. Chances are I’m older than you. I just had enough bit**ing & complaining about a qb who just wins. He has had game eating drives every single game yet he can’t move the ball? Calm down & go read that arrival I linked up above. Then let’s have a good discussion with real stats not emotion on why you would trade Alex or whatever you seem to think they should do.

          • Jarad

Trade Alex?? Who said that? I was extremely hopeful that he’d impress here in KC. And in the win collumn ,he has! And thats most important. I just see him as a decent QB and i think his limitations will be the downfall , if there is a downfall for this team. And hey, maybe its the Oline causing some of the issues. Still loving the season, but really hoping the Offense gets going

        • Danny W

a guy has stats like he had today and objective fans have blinders on. Ignore this kid dude. even if smith throws 6 picks and we win because of our defense alex smith is still the best to these people

  • Jarad

Alex is an improvement over Cassel, but his passing abilities hold this team back. Please , show me how im wrong

    • chiefs7474

      6-0… Proven wrong right there…

      • steve james

Exactly with Smith at qb teams just win. He is tiop 3 in all of the NFL in wins the last couple years. People are confused as to what counts. It may not be Manning style but I’ll ride this train all the way to NY in January.!

  • JDInOregon

Oh lord just set up for the FG attempt.

  • David Fritch

    Alex Smith is a WORTHLESS.

    • Merlin_Arrowhead_Addict

What do you think the Chiefs record would be if Matt Cassel was still QB?

      • Davé

Agreed Merlin, Smith ain’t a world beater but he is allowing our defense to get enough rest to be amazing.

    • steve james

He is a top 5 qb in almost every stat. I think you are being to emotional. Go calm down & re evaluate that worthless statement. If you don’t think Smith is a big part of this years success than how do you explain 6 probowlers & 2-14 last year?

      • Jarad

What is he top 5 in? Wins, yes! And that is most important. But he’s just not a “good” QB.

      • Danny W

what quarterback are you talking about?

    • Danny W

He’s not a great quarterback. I wouldn’t say worthless but I’d like to see what Bray has.

  • David Fritch

Yet again the Chiefs win DESPITE A.Smith. GO CHIEFS!!

    • Davé

Why don’t you tell me what FA QB would have been a better choice. Draft or otherwise….

      • Heilios

Thank you! A Smith is what we needed!

  • Heilios

    Hell yeah!

  • JDInOregon

    Holy cow!

  • ladner morse

How good could this team be with an offense?

    • Davé

      just amazing man

    • Canad-Ian

It seems like we don’t run very much until the second half. Is this true or am I imagining things?

      • JDInOregon

        I agree with you.

      • aka_Gent

The one thing the Raiders did excel at in the second half was stuffing Charles for dinky yardage. They had his number down but good.

    • Danny W

Unstoppable. Better O line better qb, and we’re super bowl winners

  • Davé

    What a smart play Abdullah

  • JDInOregon

Lenny is pointing out on the radio how much time the D spent on the field in 4th…absolutely amazing performance.

  • Blake Molina

    Dunta Robinson joins the party!

  • Merlin_Arrowhead_Addict

Stop me if you heard this one. Chiefs locked in a tight game for three quarters, win going away in the forth.

  • Heilios

We set the record! LOUDEST STADIUM IN THE WORLD!

  • JDInOregon

Crazy. This team will cause us a mental breakdown, but in a good way. What a defense.

  • Chris Tarrants

OMG!!!!! I dont think I will be able to talk tomorrow but what a win!!!!!

  • kcsparky

Down Go The Raiders! Down Go The Raiders!! 6-0….
    GO CHIEEEFFFFSSSS!!!!

  • steve james

To all of you who seem to not want Alex at qb despite this historic record here is some reading. Follow the link at the end for the source. I am a believer now. 6-0 has me convinced. Dude just wins.

TWO – A GAME MANAGER QUARTERBACK – Misinformed football fans think “game manager” is a derogatory way to describe a quarterback. It is not.

Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith has been the NFL’s best game-manager quarterback since 2011, a period during which he’s gone 25-6-1 (.797). Peyton Manning over that same period is 18-4 (.818); Tom Brady 32-10 (.762). We’re talking great company, and Smith has done it with two different franchises.

History proves that game managers win championships far more often than big-armed gunslingers. Hell, from 1961 to 2004, a period of 44 seasons, 27 percent of all NFL championships (12 total) were won by teams led by three of the most notable “game manager QBs” in history: Bart Starr, Joe Montana and Tom Brady.

Brady won three titles in his first four seasons on the field, a period during which he was derided as a boring game manager. He’s won zero championships since 2007, a period of six years in which he was one of the most exciting and prolific passers in football history.

Bottom line: don’t diss the game manager. History proves that the guy who avoids turnovers and makes smart decisions is more likely to help you win a championship than the big-armed gunslinger.”
