Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning. Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom this morning.

Welcome to The Morning (Afternoon) Fix.

–The Chiefs are 5-0 and play host to the Oakland Raiders this weekend in an effort to move to 6-0 on the season, which would be unprecedented considering the futility of last year’s record. The Raiders are one of Kansas City’s biggest rivals, if not the biggest, and head coach Andy Reid had this to say about that rivalry, according to KCChiefs.com:

"It is Raider week. I’m all about rivalries, I get it. It’s exciting. I know our fans are going to be crazy, I know that. Our players are going to be fired up for it. These are special in the National Football League, these types of rivalries they get your juices flowing and gets them flowing early. The black and silver, if anybody is wearing it, be careful.”"

Reid went on to talk about preparation for the game:

"They know. They’re aware of it. They understand that. I’m not into all that kind of stuff, but you know when you’re playing a rival, and it’s an AFC West team, so that’s very important, too. Not that they all aren’t, but those become very important games. The fellas, they realize that.”"

–According to Bradd Biggs of The Chicago Tribune former Chicago Bears practice squad quarterback Matt Blanchard was in Kansas City working out for the team today. Considering Kansas City already has three quarterbacks on the roster, I doubt this was anything more than a practice squad tryout, but you never know.
