Andy Reid: “We are 5-0, and we’re not ashamed of that”

Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning. Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom this morning.

Welcome to The Morning (Afternoon) Fix.

–The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, and this is a good 5-0 mind you. Kansas City didn’t luck into five wins, because one, that’s not an option in the NFL. Two, this is a good team with a great defense, a great coach, great special teams and a serviceable offense. It’s my opinion that the Chiefs are for real.

Coach Andy Reid on the win, per Reid Ferrin of KCChiefs.com:

“It was a resilient win,” coach Reid said. “I thought the guys played hard, they stuck to it. There were some ups and downs; it was two good teams playing each other.”

He also had this to say, per CBSSports.com:

“We are 5-0, and we’re not ashamed of that,” Reid said. “We also know that we’ve got a ton of room to improve and it’s important that we continue to do that.”

Jamaal Charles seemed lost for words regarding the fact that his team is 5-0:

“I am speechless right now,” Charles said. “This team is very blessed to be 5-0 right now. Nobody expected us to be 5-0.”

Dontari Poe, the Chiefs’ star defensive tackle, seemed a bit more excited, according to Ferrin’s report:

“Huge,” Poe said of the historic team victory. “It’s unexplainable right now; we’ll enjoy this to the fullest for this day and tomorrow, we’re moving on to the next. It’s huge; it’s a great feeling.

It’s been awhile sense our Chiefs were able to win an ugly game on the road. P.S. I got told yesterday that I was just a bandwagon chiefs fan. I love that we got a bandwagon!

    • Michael Shaw

      Cool! Can I jump on?!!!!!

    • PunjabiPete

It just got repaired, it’s been sitting over in Westport by Mill Street for decades. I upgraded the stereo in it, it now plays Ambrosia on 8 track continuously. You don’t WANT to know what it played before… Go Chiefs!

  • Jason Seibel

    RAIDERS WEEK!!!

    • Chris Tarrants

Can’t freaking wait. I am assuming that you are still going Sunday? If so you and you wife are not allowed to talk from midnight Friday until kick off Sunday! Save them vocal cords and lets knock Seattle off their pedestal as loudest crowd and also help to give dem raiders a headache at the line!!!!! So stoked

I am hoping the local CBS affiliate in Portland will, finally, recognize this game and show it. They, normally, have some Donkies on their upper management and have refused to acknowledge the existence of the Chiefs.

        • Chris Tarrants

It’s better that way! I want the fans of other teams to think we are still that weak 2-14 team from last year, so that when we punch’em in the throat they never see it coming

Just went to the Seattle Times to read comments. Dang newspaper is going the way of most. They, now, require a subscription for limited access. I stopped posting at the Star due to their new policy of requiring a FaceBook account to post. I remember the P-I going to online only and they ended up losing their top talent. The Oregonian has cut back to paper three days weekly and Sunday only. I expect them to start losing their writers, as well.

Print media is about done. To bad, always enjoyed reading. Thing of the past, heck do they even teach reading in the schools any more, know they have stopped cursive writing. Guess they can sign legal documents with an X.

Thankfully we have this site and a few others to get our Chiefs fix.

Ya Bert I live in N.Idaho and nothing but Seahawks games here,
          Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!

      • KCMikeG

Actually we need to be exercising and warming up our voices so we are in game shape come Sunday.

    • berttheclock

Speaking of which, I must get in my order for some Chiefs license holders. Hate to keep seeing so many Raiders logos on the back of car windows in the Greater Portland area. Order will include a new visor and a new stocking cap.

      • Chris Tarrants

I say buy a huge Eric Berry fathead and put in on the hood of your car

  • Tom Sparks

HUGE, feeling from a HUGE human being! Nice!

  • berttheclock

Hey, Andrew, once again, sorry to read about NKC losing to Platte County. But, at least, the Chiefs made your weekend far better.

    • PunjabiPete

Has anything changed? If you’re talking about football when I played for NKC in the mid 90s Platte County and Oak Park were pencilled in losses… the bums!

      • berttheclock

        42-28 over the Hornets.

  • Stacy D. Smith

I’ve had Raiders fans jabbering in my ear for a full 24 hours now.
“The Chiefs haven’t beaten us since 2001.”
“The Chiefs have only beaten one team above-.500.”
    “We should be 4-1.”

I can’t wait for the Chiefs to shut each and every last one of them up.

    • Chris Tarrants

2001? I was at the game in 2003 and watched us win lol and I know we have beaten them since

      • Stacy D. Smith

Sorry, that was a typo. Should’ve been “2011.”

    • Chris Tarrants

Oh and going to be there for this game too! I hope it ends in the same fashion with a last second field goal to send that band of degenerate thugs back to Cali with a loss

    • KCMikeG

A number of my in-laws are faiders fans. I know makes me sick too. One of them was high off their win fueled by little Phyllis crying a river of three turnovers in addition to two dolt fumbles. He started in on me right away today about “Raiderhead” stadium and how they own us in our house. I simply reminded him that they had lost more games than they had won and that those wins had come over two of the worst teams in the NFL and that he needed to show some respect to one of the three undefeated teams in the league. He told me to delete his number and that we are done. Hooray! One less black hole in my life! Typical faider faithful – can dish it but can’t take it. WE HAVE TO FILL ARROWHEAD WITH ALL RED. WE NEED TO DROWN THE faiders in the SEA OF RED!
