The Kansas City Chiefs will attempt to win their fourth game in a row today without the services of CB Brandon Flowers.

Here are the inactives for the Chiefs and Giants:

The Chiefs will once again be thin at the TE position. Rookie Travis Kelce has been banged up since the preseason and Anthony Fasano, though he practiced in a limited capacity on Friday, will also sit out.

That means Kevin Brock and Sean McGrath will once again be called upon to step up. McGrath had a couple of key catches last week when the Chiefs beat the Eagles so here’s hoping he continues to be a contributor vs. the Giants.

On the offensive line, guard Jeff Allen is also sitting out today. He’ll be replaced by veteran Geoff Schwartz.

The big loss, of course, is that of Flowers. The KC defense depends on its corners being able to play man coverage so that the pass rush can get to the QB. Without Flowers, veteran Dunta Robinson will need to step up and play better than he has thus far this season. Robinson played 45 snaps against the Eagles and received a -3.3 grade from Pro Football Focus. He was targeted three times and allowed two catches for 39 yards.

The Giants have been struggling to protect QB Eli Manning this season. The absence of Flowers makes it even more crucial that KC’s front seven is able to generate pressure quickly. Look for Dontari Poe to be the big key here. If the big man can collapse the middle of the pocket, Justin Houston and Tamba Hali should be able to harass Manning enough to cause some mistakes.

What do you think, Addicts? How big is the loss of Brandon Flowers?
