James Hurst – 6’7 310lbs – North Carolina

And now it’s time for my sleeper prospect. James Hurst has been a three year starter at North Carolina and is considered one of the most intelligent lineman in college football. Jonathan Cooper, the seventh overall pick in last year’s draft, credits much of his success in college to working on the left side of the line with Hurst. Hurst started off his 2013 season with probably his biggest challenge of the year, blocking Jadeveon Clowney of South Carolina and as we all know, Clowney had zero sacks in the game. He was an excellent run blocker helping Giovani Bernard become the first running back taken in last year’s draft. Hurst also helped North Carolina lead the ACC in sacks allowed per game, a whopping total of 0.92. I believe Hurst will be taken in the late second to early third round and will be an excellent addition to any team.
