Chiefs News And Rumors 9/21

Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning. Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom this morning.

Welcome to The Morning Fix.

–It almost feels strange that there won’t be any football this Sunday for Kansas City, but that weird feeling wears off when you realize the Chiefs are 3-0 after beating the Eagles to go to 3-0 on Thursday Night Football.

–Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid talked about playing his old team, per a press release on

“It was interesting at the end. That was when it all hit, that I was playing in Philadelphia again. I don’t know if you let your guard down or whatever, but when the players are coming up to you and you congratulate them, that’s kind of when you felt it, when I felt it.”

Reid also discussed Kansas City’s defense, which has been great so far this season:

“I thought they played dominant football, at times. If you’re going to play that offense, you’re going to have a couple of big plays. That’s going to happen. They have way too much talent on that offense and they have a great scheme. I guess what I was (most proud) about with the defense was, so they made a big play, they said ‘alright they got one, but we’re coming back at you; we’re going to give you our best shot this play and see how that works’. With that attitude, we were able to keep them out of the end zone. That attitude, for the most part, that attitude contributes to that.”

–The Chiefs have signed a player to the practice squad, while waiving another player. According to Reid Ferrin of, the Chiefs have signed fullback Toben Opurum and waived defensive lineman Jordan Miller.

Gregg Rosenthal of has a story out there on Eric Fisher’s early season struggles. Though it may be painful to read, I suggest you check it out.

Defense is 11 playing as 1 : great props to Justin Houston, but we all send congrats to the entire “D:”…..each week will offer us a “special” player because this is an unselfish group of true professionals. Go “D” and Go Chiefs !

Fisher article is good and I think acurate….for now….still think he is a hard worker and fast learner. Look for him to be very good player for years. Would really like to see Albert and Eric to be our book end tackles for years. Give Albert his long term deal and a chance to get his money as left tackle and then extend his career by swapping with Eric to right tackle in the future. Give Chiefs 8-10 years plus of great O-Line Tackles. Go Chiefs !
