The Kansas City Chiefs silenced a lot of haters this past weekend. A lot of those haters work for the NFL on Fox broadcasting team. There are a lot of factors that came into play to secure the Chiefs the win this past weekend, but I want to look at one guy in particular. This was a really tough decision, but I’m giving my Arrowhead Addict MVP award to Mr. Alex Smith, who I called in my own words “Checkdown McGee.”

Alex Smith showed me something this past weekend. The main thing that I saw was the will to win. This, to me, came on a third and 15 play where he scrambled and instead of running out of bounds hurdled a defender to get the first down. He had a great day on the ground rushing for 57 yards. He also once again threw zero interceptions while throwing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a great 31 yard strike down the field to Donnie Avery which ended up with a touchdown pass to Dwayne Bowe at the end of the drive.

Before the season a lot of people were saying Alex Smith would be “Matt Cassel 2.0.” Those people were wrong. Alex Smith is here to stay and he is my MVP for the Dallas Cowboys game.
