The Dallas Cowboys come into Arrowhead this weekend for the first home game for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cowboys bring a good defense, and there are a few defenders that the Chiefs must take into account when preparing for the game.

1. DeMarcus Ware

DeMarcus Ware has been a key to Dallas’ pass rush and has been the sacks leader the last few years. He has not gotten less than double digit sacks since 2005. If the Chiefs plan on using the pass to beat Dallas, the offensive line is going to have a tough time defending Ware up front. Look for double teams to help keep the pressure off Alex Smith, and give Jamal Charles some running room.

2. Brandon Carr

There is no defender on this Cowboys squad who knows the Chiefs it is Brandon Carr. Since he put on a Cowboys jersey instead of the red of Chiefs he has been a big help in the secondary for Dallas. While this is a new era in the Chiefs, look for Carr to be one of the key players in the secondary that the Chiefs must plan for, if they look to be effective through the air.

3. Anthony Spencer

Anthony Spencer returned to practice on Wednesday, and is likely to suit up for Sunday’s game. He will line up against rookie Eric Fisher on the line. Even though this is his first game of the season he will still be a defender the Chiefs must plan for. He, along with Ware make a formidable defensive line and will cause trouble for the Chiefs offensive line. In order for both the pass and the run to be effective you can be sure come Sunday, he will be planned for.

Andy Reid knows the Dallas Cowboys and he knows how to game plan for them. The Chiefs offense looked impressive against the Jaguars this past week, but this will be the first real test of the new look Chiefs. As the Cowboys make their was into Arrowhead this weekend the Chiefs need to prepare for this Dallas team who knows how to pressure the quarterback, and can cause turnovers in the secondary.
