Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning. Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom this morning.

Welcome to The Morning Fix.

There’s not much out there on the inter-webs today in regard to the Chiefs, but here’s a bit of breaking news that will certainly impact the AFC West. Per Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller likely will be suspended at least six games for violation of the league’s substance policy, according to league sources.

The announcement could come as early as Monday but it is expected to be formalized sometime this week, according to the sources.

Miller is not likely to go forward with an appeal, though all sides were trying to finalize the suspension’s conditions.

Miller is undoubtedly one of the best defensive players in the NFL right now, so this would be a pretty big loss for the Broncos. Last season Miller totaled 55 total tackles, 18.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 1 interception. The Chiefs play Denver in Week 11 and Week 13.

This is a Chiefs site though, so let’s end on a Kansas City note, addicts. Here’s a great quote from defensive lineman Mike DeVito on head coach Andy Reid’s involvement with the team, per Reid Ferrin of KCChiefs.com:

“Yeah, coach Reid is involved in all phases,” Chiefs DL Mike DeVito said.

“He’s always around and involved in all phases, checking on individual drills, talking to us during team (drills). He’s always bringing stuff to the table. He’s a great football mind, and it’s awesome to be around (him) and have a head coach like that who can always come up and add something to your game.”

Coach Reid is undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the NFL. In 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, he led the organization to double-digits wins eight times (Pro-Football-Reference).

Can he lead the turnaround here in Kansas City?

That remains to be seen, but he’s certainly qualified for the job.
