Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning. Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.
Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom this morning.
Welcome to The Morning Fix.
Well folks, it’s game day. This may only be a preseason clash between the Chiefs and 49ers, but there’s a lot to talk about and a lot on the line.
I asked Niner Noise editor Eric Melendez some questions on the game and the Chiefs in general. I know many are excited about this game here in Kansas City. Here’s Melendez on the vibe in San Francisco:
Most Niner fans are excited for preseason games because that means it’s August with the start of the regular season just around the corner. There are a lot of interesting position battles, like at receiver and cornerback, which is making training camp and the preseason exciting. Playing against Alex Smith is making this week’s game the highlight of the preseason.
Speaking of Alex Smith, here are his thoughts on his time in San Francisco, according to Eric Branch of SFGate.com:
“To be honest, if I had left two years ago, before Harbaugh had gotten there, I would have held on to a little more – I don’t know what you want to call it – regret or a little more bitter about what had happened, ” Smith said. “But, to be honest, the last two years I really feel like I’ve kind of made my peace with the fans, the organization in general. That’s why the transition this year has really been so great. It’s really kind of been moving forward.”
It’s good to see that Smith is ready to move on with the Chiefs, and hopefully it’s to bigger and better things.
Finally, I know there’s been a ton of optimism surrounding the team, especially after a good showing by the first unit against the Saints, and a reportedly good training camp. Ashley Fox of ESPN.com wrote a commentary that is extremely optimistic about the Chiefs, and it’s one I think you addicts will enjoy. You can read it here.
