I moved to Kansas City a few months ago and was immediately taken aback by how great it was.

You see, I’m originally from Detroit. I love that city and it will always be home, but I shouldn’t have to tell you how desolate and discouraging it can be there..

It was a change to drive down into the city and actually see that there were things to do. Whether it be because of the restaurants, bars, local businesses or beautiful scenery, I found it easy to quickly fall in love with the city.

Falling in love with Kansas City means that one must have an acute awareness of the city’s love though, and that’s the Chiefs.

I see the billboards, jerseys, decals, flags and t-shirts. I could feel the excitement in the air as camp started up and discussions started turning back to football (finally). I feel the excitement as preseason game No. 1 quickly approaches.

Tonight, on the eve of a new era of Kansas City football, I start a new era at the helm of this great platform.

A little background on me…

I started off my career at BleacherReport.com as an intern. I worked my way up the chain and held positions covering the NFL, working with interns and ultimately covering college football recruiting. I spent three years at B/R and I learned everything I needed to know. I was trained, and I was prepared. I went from an unpaid intern to someone who made a career out of covering sports, specifically football.

You see, football is in my blood. I played it in my backyard as a kid and I excelled at it in school. I never ended up playing varsity football in high school due to the twists and turns of this unexpected life, but I’ve always loved the game and I’ve always understood it.

I loved it so much, in fact, that I decided to coach it. I’m now in my second year as a football coach and if you go to North Kansas City high school on a Friday night this football season, you’ll see me coaching running backs—varsity all the way down to freshmen.

I love football. I can smell it in the air and I dream about it when I sleep. I love breaking down film, and naturally as a coach, I find beauty in the X’s and O’s.

I aim to bring that sort of analytical coverage to this site, but I also can’t wait to facilitate great work from the staff you already know and read on a regular basis.

Basically, I’ve been programmed to bring you the Chiefs news and opinion that you desperately want.

I’ve heard that you fans are the best in the world, and I’m looking forward to writing for an interacting with all of you. We have great leadership in place, a great staff, and a historic and prolific team to analyze, discuss and ultimately root for.

I look forward to interacting with you on the site, but please feel free to email me at akulha56@gmail.com, or tweet me at @AKonSports. I’d like to be an open resource for you as the season goes on, so feel free to get in touch at anytime.

The NFL is king, and we are the Chiefs.

Nay, we are the addicts.
