FanSided’s NFL site, NFL Spin Zone, has released their start of preseason Power Rankings and the Kansas City Chiefs came in at No. 24.

The comment on the Chiefs was short and sweet.

"Kansas City Chiefs: Not on this hype train"

Full disclosure here means telling you that one of the NFL Spin Zone editors, Ernie Padaon, is not only a San Diego Chargers fan, he’s the editor over at Bolt Beat.

While Ernie is clearly biased (feel free to head over to Spin one to let him have it– respectfully of course) I think he has a point about the Chiefs.

Right now, KC is all hype.

Now Ernie isn’t buying the hype. He is biased. Many of us Arrowhead Addicts are buying the hype. We’re biased, too!

We know the Chiefs have a bunch of talented football players but the reality is, at least until tomorrow night’s game, we just don’t know if they are a good team yet. Heck, last year during the first preseason game, the Chiefs’ first team looked unstoppable. Then the wheels came off.

While we may not agree with or like Spin Zone’s ranking, I actually think 24 is somewhat generous. After all, the Chiefs haven’t proven anything on the field yet. The last time KC played, they were the worst team in the NFL. Until I get proof on the field that they are no longer terrible, I can’t get myself too worked up over a preseason ranking.

Now if they play well tomorrow night, Mr. Padaon had better reevaluate his ranking.
