The Kansas City Chiefs will play their first preseason game of 2013 this Friday evening and according to offensive coordinator, Dog Pederson, KC will use all four QB’s on the roster.

“We’ve got four quarters and four quarterbacks,” said Pederson today to media. “Each one will take a quarter, and we’re excited to see them all play.”

That means we will get to see Alex Smith for a full quarter, if the Chiefs stay true to their word. Still, things could change once the game is underway.

For instance, if Smith comes out and leads the Chiefs offense on a 75-yard drive for a touchdown, I would imagine Andy Reid will give him the rest of the night off. Should the offense sputter a bit, Reid may want to ensure they get some more work.

After Smith, Chase Daniel will be next up. He will likely play the tire second quarter before giving way to rookie passer Tyler Bray.

Kansas City Star reporter Adam Teicher confirmed exactly what Pederson said after practice.

Interestingly, veteran QB Ricky Stanzi could be looking at his very last chance to impress Andy Reid. Stanzi is last on the depth chart and should he perform poorly Friday night, there is a chance he will never see the field for the Chiefs again. As the preseason goes on, Smith and then Daniel are likely to get most of the reps in the exhibition games (unless Bray can overtake Daniel which is unlikely)leaving not much, if any, time for Bray and Stanzi.

What do you think, Addicts? Will Friday be the last time Stani sees game action as a Chief?
