Dontari Poe Cuts Out BBQ

Kansas City Chiefs NT Dontari Poe is a big man but he is making sure his size this season comes from lean proteins and not delicious Kansas City BBQ.

Poe,who has dropped some weight, has been having a very solid camp and told reporters today he feels like he is moving better.

“Yeah, I mean experience comes to me and knowing what’s going on,” said Poe. “Personally I think I’m moving better and taking more snaps, so it’s all positive for me.”

So what has Poe been eating to help him stay “slim?”

“I eat a lot of eggs in the morning,”Poe said. “I eat a lot of protein – grilled chicken, grilled fish and stuff like that. I’m trying to cut out eating pork and stay away from fried food and barbeque and all of that.”

Poe was asked how long he has been “off the sauce” and he said it has been about three weeks…and that it hasn’t been easy.

“Off the barbeque? I think three weeks since I’ve broke, today at camp. So, it’s been a long time. But, like I said, I feel it. I feel better since I’ve been off of it.”

Poe said he has lost about 15-20 pounds. That means he’s gone from 350 to around 335.

Despite the slimmer figure, Poe said he hasn’t lost any strength and still lift the same amount he did before he dropped the pounds.

I am all for a slightly slimmer Poe. He is still a big, fast, strong, load of a man. If being a few pounds lighter can make him quicker off the snap and more explosive, he might have more success collapsing the pocket this season.

What do you think, Addicts? Will Dontari be able to lay off the Oklahoma Joe’s?

Reid needs to get with Poe and tell him every game day Sunday that he dominates and plays well Reid will take him to OK Joes that Night or Monday for Lunch and I bet with that motivation Poe will be an absolute beast on game days. I know I’d run over some Mofo’s for some burnt ends.

It shows that Poe is taking his role with this team seriously. That’s an excellent sign! Same Strength & Quicker! If the coaches are seeing improvement, this could be another sign of Reid imprint on our team! He could be a true beast! He was already pretty darn quick for his size! I hope we keep hearing THE TRUTH, as Andy Reid is a real open, funny human being, not to mention his NFL prowess! What a great change from Pioligat!

I’m expecting big things from Poe this year. W/ him collapsing the middle and Hali and Houston providing the vise … I can’t wait. Lilja may be sorry he signed to protect Manning.

At first glance “DontarI Poe cut..” I almost fell out of my seat and cried! Go Poe!

hoping he continues to improve and becomes the leader of the line and with his left and right End friends become the dominate D line we need. Take the heat and let Tamba and Justin do the what they do best.

    Go Po!

Poe is a real key for us this yr. Having jettisoned the injury-prone Dorsey, we need Poe to be the rock we’ve desperately needed … and not had here since Dan Saleaumua… (NO! Chester McGlockton doesn’t count IMO) If Tyson Jackson has matured; we’ll be real formidable in the trenches, and that’ll make our already solid line-backing group even scarier!!
